I got an 03 TL-S. Recently more and more I'm starting to see the vinyl tapes on the door trims starting to bubble. Anyone out there have the same problems? and if you do, how did you fix it. I mean I can always go to the dealership and pay for new tapes and put it on. Anyone else have alternative methods??? DIY>>>

I've had the bubble for years now. As long as it doesn't fade like the pillars, I'm not complaining.

 

mine has bubbled and is now torn. when i get a chance, i'm planning to pull it off and either replace it with a vinyl tape or gloss black paint. if you have any other ideas, i'm all ears.

 

Do a search on "Door Pillar" you will find many solutions.

 

^^we're not talking about the pillar - this is the black trim on top of the door above the window channel.

 

?I've got similar problem, not bubbling yet but discoloration where glue bond has let go. Stealership quoted $300/door and they sub it to a trim shop. They're crazy.Body shop will strip clean and repaint all tape areas for$425.00 almost 1/3 the price. Shop around but that;l be my route done once and for all. Check around you may do better.

 

thats why they call it 'steal'ership
