Rearview mirror leak. Any common prob list(s)?

Tried the reduce glare feature on the inside mirror last night of my recently purchased 2002 TL 3.2S. Left the feature on over night and this morning I couldn't help but notice it leaked a little, leaving a spot on my console. I turned it off but figure I better replace the mirror sooner or later, though I'm assuming it shouldn't leak if I keep the feature off?

Is there a list(s) anywhere of the common probs with these TLs, i.e things to most watch out for?

Oh and leaving it on overnight had noting to do with it(more likely the mere fact of using it and it was already bad). Mine has been on since the day i bought the car in 2000

It's not leaking now that's it off. But I'm planning to get it replaced tomorrow as I don't want to risk it starting even with it off. I tried calling Magna to see if they would still cover replacing it, but no, they suggested a remanufacturer (Sybesmas electronics) may be cheaper than the dealer.

Purchasing the replacement inside mirror from the local Acura dealer was less than I thought it would be: $106
