For some reason my car has been dying recently without keeping anything on in the car, first i thought it was my alternator, but when i jump started the car it turned on and stayed on so I know that it was recharging the battery. And now every time I go to turn it on, it takes a a couple cranks and i have to give it some gas. I thought my system was the problem so I unhooked my subs. I just recently noticed the lights in my car flickering, do I need a capacitor or a new battery? The battery in the car still is the oem battery.

 

you have not actually tested the battery,,,the alternator was putting out enough power to keep car running,,
but cant run engine and lights etc

get to a parts store for a free system test
oe battery? maybe a dealer replacement at some point,,,cant imagine one lasting this long!!
3-4 years is all we can expect

 

^^^ if the battery is truly an OE unit, you def. got a good life out of it! Typical battery life is about 5 years.

I'd replace the battery without question.

 

had the same thing happen in my accord and a new alt solved it. but that thing used a delphi POS that was lucky to make it 90K

on my CLS the battery was 8 years old when I replaced it.....

My car is dead. I don't have repair book with me..

Battery was dead, went to pep boys for a new one under warranty. Anyways the dude at pep boys gave me a reverse terminal battery!!!!!!! Did not notice until I went to hook up the - + terminals. Sparks went a flying!!!!
Anyways correct battery is in the car now, however only thing getting juice is the HORN!!!
FFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!

HELP!!
I assume I blew a fuse?? Where should I look??

yea i went to autozone and it is the battery. Are the batteries at walmart and autozone any good? like the Maxx or interstate brands... are they any good? Or what do some of you guys recommend? I dont want to bust my balls paying for a battery tho.

 

I have the same problem at first it wouldnt turn on and I charged it to
100% the next day, it turns on but it struggles and seems like the battery is dead

 

no you dont want those batteries...think of their heritage, how long they sit on the shelf,,overpriced,,low lifespan...

look up `batteries plus` thats a company name, in your area,
ask if they have a BLEM in your size,,
small external damage to a mount we dont use can knock half off the price,,
I paid 45 for a nice battery that way,,90 was price for regular one

batteries are like brakes--get a good one= so its always there when you really need it!

 

any strange starting -batt probs should be taken to nearest parts store for a free ck up--they can test alt- batt- cables etc
figure out whats wrong

note: driving on bad alt can kill batt,,and driving on bad batt can kill alt!
