bad tranny

i bought my 99 tl w naviabout two months ago for 5k with 150k miles and i noticed afterwards the tranny slips during high accerleration and the occational hard downshift into first. and durning normal driving when it shifts from first to 2nd, it stays in 2nd for just a second litereally and goes int third. almost as if it doesnt want to be in 2nd or it tries to skip it.

are these the happenings of a famously crapd out TL tranny?

What says he didnt test drive it? And even if he did it doesnt mean the symptoms would have been there when he did.

look at spending around 6K+ More if you have a shop do it. It would cost you less than half that to have your trans rebuilt

Yes there are those extreme builders, and one of them just told you to let a shop rebuild yours for half the cost, when running good, its all the transmission you really need

And people, I bought my 01 with 67thou and the trans showed a few minor signs during the test drive and within 2 months- well I just got it back with the new warranty provided trans.

i work in a shop so i wouldnt be charged. well it helps when the boss's son is the mechanic there and happends to be a good friend of mine. i would just have to pay for all the parts. thats what im worried about. that and a few "thank you" cards that come in green with dead presidents on them for my buddy
