Automatic transmission not shifting
Automatic transmission not shifting
Hello everyone. I recently replace my transmission in my 2002 Acura TL base model and from the get-go it would not shift. I'm not sure but I think it might be driving in 3rd gear because it's really slow on the take off from a stop. I can shift it manually down into first from a stop but then I have to put it in D4 or D5 to drive it. I've had a blinking D5 in my Dash and the TCS light flashing ever since I put it in and the sports shift does not work. Any suggestions? I wonder if the Dual shift solenoid or something like that could be bad
Let me also add that this transmission was from a junk yard and I installed it myself. I am a certified mechanic I just don't understand these transmissions and the various shift solonoids and clutch solonoids
I hope this helps you.
I bought my 02 TL ABP at 115k in 2007 and got a new transmission shortly after. Ever since then, I've been only doing ATF drain&fill and recently did my very first filter replacement at 237k. So the transmission's been doing well over 120k miles on its own apart from the original engine that's on 237k.
