When I'm driving in 2nd and I shift into 3rd, there is a slight hesitation, maybe 1.5-2 seconds. But when I go from 3rd to 4th it shifts almost immediately after I push up on the shifter. Is this normal? Does anyone else notice this? Also, it doesn't matter if I shift at 3000rpm or 5500rpm - still the same outcome.

mine does that too. it always takes a second or two between 2 and 3. I guess its normal.

 

my 2nd to 3rd shifting sucks ass...The only time it properly works is whe I'm normally driving in the street. But if I floor it really quick and it drops down to 1st and shift to 2nd...the RPMs obviously shoot up quicker and say I was just trying to get ahead of traffic and started slowing down and wnated ot shift into 3rd. Well if I do that, I have to hit the lever sometimes 2-3 times. It's weird shit.

 

I have the same issue. But only when accelerating quickly from a stop sign or red light. I will shift 2 - 3 times or more while the engine revs into high RPMs before it will finally shift to third. If I drive normally I can shift without problems.

 

SS in my opinion ust over all stinks the SS in the prelude is alot better than ours...much quicker and more responsive..also i hate how you cant shift 1-2

 

Thts why before I shit from 2-3 I shift before i hit REDLINE so when it shifts its right at 6900

 

i find gate shifting works a lot better than SS for quick acceleration. But timing it so that it shifts right when you get to 6900 in the way to go. so much fun.

I agree with cltypeSLOW, the prelude ss is much better and so is the RSX. My girlfriend has one of those and the ss mode kicks the crap out of ours...
