AC Problem

Hey guys,

I'm a newbie here. I have a 2000 3.2TL w/navigation system.

About 5 months ago, my AC just stopped working. The blower is fine, it just blew hot air. It happened out of nowhere...was working perfectly fine (blowing very cold air), and then something happened and the AC just started blowing hot air.

I got it fixed by a mechanic that we know, and he said it was a simple fix (wire or fuse or something). Now fast-forward to last week...the same thing happened. AC was blowing very cold one day, and the next day, I start the car and the AC is gone.

What could it be? Could it be a fuse? The mechanic who fixed it before is no longer here, so I want to try to troubleshoot this myself (with y'alls help of course).

Any recommendations? How can I fix this thing again so that it blows out cold air again?

He's not there because he didn't fix s**t...he duct taped it together. I'd say your on the verge of a compressor clutch going out. Or, you have a leak in your ac system. If enough freon leaks out, there's not enough pressure to open the hi pressure sensor, therefore, no ac.

Ac is something that can't really be diagnosed over the Internet. It takes someone KNOWING what to look for on the gauges, and where to look inside the evap case.

Time to have a shop check it out.

Pretty easy to diagnose, Pull the A/C DTC Codes:

When you find your code come back here so I can print screen you the Page so you can fix the issue yourself... If the clutch itself is going out though it wont come out as a code.
Hope it Helps.

Trying to replace ac compressor...can't get to the bottom 2 bolts. Is there an easy way, or does the engine need to be raised?

2006 Acura TSX

Thanks...

I don't know the exact procedure to remove a compressor in a TSX but its a 4cyl it should no be that hard as to lift the engine..

I think you will get clearance from underneath the car by removing the under-liner and getting the right tool

Just as a reminder....the site also has a "TSX" forum, which may be helpful for any problems that you encounter.

@Skirmich I posted another thread about an issue with my A/C and came across your response,

currently I'm getting the I dtc, could you send me screen shots for the self fix?

also, are you able to get to the air mix control motor by removing the console? Let me know if this is covered in the screen shots.
