Exclamation ABS VSA Lights ON

Hello everyone,

I have my VSA and ABS lights on yet again. The first time was after me and a buddy replaced the transmission. I replaced the left front sensor and had not had any problems until now. I am getting the same codes as last time which are,53-1 and I think it was a 14 for the front left sensor. All this happened when the cold front hit here in Texas last week. On my way to work I noticed the VSA was engaged for almost 2 minutes straight, turned off after I noticed, and came back on right before I turned off the car. It has been on ever since. I tried resetting the codes because the FL sensor is less than 9 months old, but the 53-1 comes up immediately. I am going to check the grounds as soon as I get a chance. I wanted to see if anyone could give me any tips on diagnosing this problem.

I did get the codes read. They were 53 and 14. 53 is for the abs module and 14 is for the LF speed sensor. I checked the grounds they were ok but did nothing to the problem. I checked the car later and the abs light was off, but not the vsa. I think water somehow got into the module with the snow and is starting to dry out. I do remember noticing the VSA turning on intermittently with heavy rain. Still checking into the VSA problem. Thanks anyway Nick.

I am having the exact same issue with my car and it got cold, snowy and icy around here and my car is kept outdoors also going to check the sensors and wires on the wheels see if there is any exposed wire, before I send it off to a shop for proffesional attention.

The abs light went off on its own. I think water somehow made it into the module. The vsa triangle is still on and within a few minutes the vsa turns on.

Glad to hear you got your's fixed. I'll make sure everything is tight.
