I finally got my car back from the stealership and they told me that I need to change the ABS Modulator on my 03 TL. Has anyone ever done this and is it a hard fix. They quoted me $2000 including the parts.

Also does anyone know if a modulator from any other honda cars will fit the TL?

 

psh if the abs sensor doesnt come up on the dash, i say fuck them..

 

Looks like all the 3.2 TL's from 1999 forward are compatible. Check for local used parts w/ following link. I've bought a couple of used ABS modulator units. Take your time and look around a bit. They will usually garuntee a working unit, but you may wind up w/ a non-working unit and have to get another. I found them for your car as low as $60. That sounds a lot better than $2000. Even if you pay for installation, you should be able to get a working unit for well under $500.

If you want to DIY, it's easy to install and bleed an ABS. You will need a 10mm flare tubing wrench to turn the tubing nuts w/o rounding them off.

Hmm well what are the symptoms to your problem because I had my brake system bled like 3 times and a master cylinder changed and my pads changed due to soft brakes and lastly the mechanic told me maybe its my ABS Modulator and well i ve been quoted for about 1000.

 

have u actually tested and see if the abs will kick in when u brake hard? why not just test it..

 

Mine was covered on extended warranty and i have a 2002 tls......took them 10 days to get the part and install......that price is what they do charge since i had asked the service guy.
