99 won't start
Went to the store today and my 99 TL-P wouldn't start when I tried to leave. It wouldn't even try to turn over. No prior symptoms.
Lights and radio work, but I pulled the battery anyway and ran it to an autozone across the street. Tested good. Thought it might be the key transponder so had the wife bring the other set....no good.
Had the ignition switch changed with the recall a few years ago. Does this sound like the swich is dead? If so, how difficult to change myself?
Thanks in advance.

Even the ignition switches installed under the recall can and do fail.
My 1999 TL is on its 3rd ignition switch. The second one was installed under the recall and it failed a year or so ago.
The part is about $50 online and you can install it yourself.

Just as an afterthought, what would the symptoms be if the starter was the one causing the problem?
thanks again.

Here are a couple of threads on the starter with some discussion of symptoms:

Good luck and post an update when you figure out the problem.

It's nice to know that replacing the starter is an easy job.
How much was the replacement?
