99 tl overheating help!!!

my TL has been overheating when it idles I can smell the coolant fluid. When I open the hood I can see coolant residue at the radiator neck and cap. I have replaced the radiator, oem radiator cap and thermostat and the ac condenser fan and I still have a problem. I've been told it might be the head gasket can u guys help

Start by checking relays and fuses for the fans. Make sure your radiator cap is on correctly, as stupid as that sounds. How is the coolant level?

When I bought the new radiator it came with a cap and I kept overheating so I bought an oem cap from napa autoparts. The coolant level is full. I put my hand on the radiator cap and I can feel it bubbling

Is the coolant level overfilled? If there is too much coolant, I believe it may begin spurting out of the little hole in the radiator cap. How do they coolant lines look? Dry-rotted or cracking?

Does the temperature needle inside the car actually move towards HOT, or can you just smell coolant?

the radiator fluid over the radiator looks like a white haze coming from underneath the cap between the neck in the cap and the temperature gauge goes up 3/4 of the way sometimes even higher

~ A few questions that might help us help you :

* Are both cooling fans activating ?
* Was the cooling system properly burped of any air pockets ?
* Did ya use the "OEM" 2 stage T-stat ?
* Does your exhaust puff white clouds of smoke ?
* Is the oil level higher than normal and appear milky ?
* What did the old coolant look like before ?

also did you use Honda Type 2 coolant or something else? Whatever you used it should be a 50/50 mix of water/coolant. Honda type 2 is premixed. Your thermostat could be sticking although if it is a Honda OEM tstat they should stick open not closed. Is coolant overflowing from your coolant reservoir?

was it redlined on temp several times before fixes?
spark plugs will confirm head gasket blown ,the rising oil level or foamy rad fluid = blown head gasket
