99 TL Electrical issue?

99 TL, 170,000 miles. Starts fine, then after a minute or two the gauges quit and the motor progressively runs rougher until its almost stalling. Is this some kind of sensor or control module possibly? Any idea if the two are linked? Im assuming they are since they both started today...but I've been wrong before. Any help/ideas much appreciated.

Welcome to Azine!!!!

While it's possible that ya may have an electrical problem, it's more than likely clogged EGR passageways/port. The '99 models were notorious for this. Check the "DIY" sticky about the procedure for cleaning the EGR and TB intake systems for your car. If this does not help, have the electrical charging system load tested for free at any local auto parts store. Perhaps the battery isn't being fully charged ?

Update: Borrowed a code reader last night and checked the fault codes. Only code showing was P1457, something to do with the EVAP system from what I could find.

Is this still a possible EGR prob?...or do I have something else going on with the car?

EVAP system can be a "pita". Usually it's a canister vent valve going bad.
But, with your '99 TL....be sure to clean the EGR passageways and TB intake if they have not been done.

Well, had time to clean the EGR port yesterday morning. Took the car for a 15 minute drive with no issues. Not a difficult job to do, only took about an hour and a half. Really glad I found this site before I payed someone else to do it, especially since Acuras aren't that common around here and they would have charged me way to much or messed with every part except the real problem! Thanks for the pointers guys!

Yeah, read the "DIY"s and check out any other particular issues which have been experienced by other 'Ziners. It's all right here at your fingertips !!! Good luck.
