Weird HID Problems

What's up guys, I have another problem that needs solved!

Recently my driver's side ballast went bad, so i decided to go Morimoto 35W from TRS. The ballast was soaked and filled with water, but the bulb is fine. In the meantime I decided to move the working ballast to the driver's side to help with nighttime driving.

Oddly enough after I swapped ballasts I went to turn on the headlight and it flickered for about 5 seconds and turned off. To make things weirder, the high beams flickered in conjunction with the HID low beam, but as soon as the low beam stopped flickering and went off, so did the high beams.

So I am wondering if this is more than simply a bad ballast?

Any input is greatly appreciated!!

Ya may wanna consider replacing the OEM's with an aftermarket HID kit at less than $100.
Something is wrong with the wiring connectors or ground, if ya swapped sides.

I bought a 35W 5000K Morimoto kit from The RetroFit Source and it is absolutely great. Light output is much better than stock, and ballasts are very rugged and also waterproof. I also have 35W 5000K from DDM Tuning in my fogs; they are great as well, and for $59.99 why not.

I would go with either DDM Tuning or The RetroFit Source, both have some good stuff for some good prices

I actually spoke with DDM Tuning today. I didn't know their ballasts were waterproof.

How do you like the 5000k fogs? I was going to get the 6000k.

I was also going to get 55w 10000k low beam kit from DDM Tuning. What do you guys think about that?

NEVER GO OVER 6000K!!!!! THEY WILL LOOK TERRIBLE!!! AND YOU WILL LOSE VISIBILITY!
as for fogs, match em or go yellow 3000k

I agree with HairyMonkey. Don't go 6000K, let alone 10,000K. At that point it is only for looks; for visibility anything between 4300K and 5000K is great. I really like the 5000K in my fogs and they put out some nice, crisp white light

What issues are you having? I believe other members on the site have posted what they've done to install their aftermarket kits.

I ordered the HID kit from HIDextra with a relay harness. I am not sure what cable to splice. The only instruction i found is on this thread (here) but it dosnt use a relay harness. I read somewhere that you need a relay harness to bypass the oem wiring. thanks

You don't need a relay harness
