2003 TL-s will not go into gear

Guys,
I need some advice.
I noticed the tranny started slipping.
I had the fluid flushed out. It was black
Now the car won't even go into gear.
I'm not sure, if it's a solenoid or the tranny.

Any advice would help

Thanks,
Jimmwax

most likely sounds like the trans... how many miles on it? usually when they have high mileage and u dont know if the trans was serviced before they dont recommend flushing it only because itll make the problem worse, especially when the fluid is black.

Flush causes clogging. So now you have two options:
1. If tranny is defective, need a new one.

2. If tranny lacks of fluid, gears wont shift. Try to replace the fluid filter. Very easy to do with 11/16 open wrench for the filter nut, and a 10mm offset wrench.

Filter is between 35-50 bucks. It is below the fluid warmer. You will need to remove the battery.

The other day I went to pull out of my garage and I could not get the gearshift to move. After several attempts I got down on all fours and looked at the break pedal. There's a little button that when the brake is depressed allows the car to shift into a gear, this button was stuck in, I tapped it a few times with my finger and was good to go. I don't know if that might help you but it worked for me.
Good Luck.

^ . A bad switch, Check to see if your brake lights are working when you push on the brake. If not replace the switch.

I just had this happen to me as well while I was out of town. I have been using the key to manually get the car in to gear until I get it to the shop in a couple of days. It happens to a lot of hondas. My wife's Accord coupe had it happen a couple of years back. It took all of 45 minutes for the mechanic to fix.

make sure your brake lights are working if your driving around like that.

Oh, I know better than that. I had to drive it back home since it happened while I was in Florida on vacation, but my best friend and his family went with us and he just followed me back to GA. I parked the car until I could find time to take it to the shop. It has been raining all week here in GA and you know what they say about us southerners and driving in precipitation LOL! I would not dare chance that someone would actually be paying attention to the road and not ram me in the back. Thanks for the word of warning though!
