Hi can anyone help! Code p0401....I remove he intake manifold and clean it with carburetor cleaner and put everything back,car ran find he nextday cel and tsc light are on? Rpm idle up and down help

 

when you removed the manifold and TB- did you clean the IACV under the TB?
remove tb again- remove round cover on bottem- remove disc- clean-

should fix you up

on the manifold clean- you got the port clear all the way thru?

 

Hey wondering if it's ok to spray iacv with sensor on it? Having a hard time removing sensor.

 

you have to remove the round cover on the iacv then its internal parts come out for cleaning

 

I'm having a hard time taking off the senior? Is there any trick

 

I bought a sec throttle body with all the senior and still the same problem?

 

you removed the intake manifold. Did you put the gasket on? did you damage the gasket at all? are the bolts torqued right?

Take a can of carb cleaner and start spraying around the base of the intake manifold and the TB with the motor running. does the RPM change.

 

good call kris! that top gasket of the manifold gets put on upside down- looks like its correct but its not and blocks imprtant ports- causes idle to go up and down

solution- remove top cover and flip gasket over- match it to all ports in top cover, not engine side

always suspect the last work done on the car,,if not that- the thing done before that~

 

Though he has a 99 which doesnt have that. But if he removed the IM and or TB either one of those gaskets could be leaking. Since he replaced the TB id like to know if he got a new gasket to go with it and cleaned the gasket surface really good.

 

wow- I assumed samesame,,doh! on me twice in 24 hours!!

 

I double check everything and clean it again? Still have the same problem.

 

Ok after redoing everything again everything look fine? Now with the motor running I spray carb clearner around the TB gasket the motor idles funny and rite away cel and tcs light are on? Can it be TB gasket when bad?

 

After change the TB gasket same problem ilde between 1 and 1 1/5. Now thing about change the throttle body?Acura dealer asking 5 big one? Can anyone tell me will it work!!

 

what does the dealer say it needs?

is this used TB you installed known to be good?
Did you clean the IACV on the bottem of it before install? thats idle control probs 80% of the time
other possibles are throttle position sensor or vac leak
did you use a torque wrench to tighten all the bolts?
Its not very tight but must be in a 2 lb range or leaks occur

reset the ecu by pulling the CLOCK fuse on passenger end of dash for a minute or two

 

If you spray carb cleaner around the TB does the idle still get funny?

 

Also did you take the IACV off and clean it?

 

Having problem taking out iacv any special tools I need.I have a sec TB and took out iacv and clean it? But the sec TB install idle reapply!!!

 

I'll try again after work any special tools I need?

 

Driving the car 15 mins idle fine? 30 mins then the ilde acts up. Is it cause iacv not clean rite

 

might be heat related movement/expansion of parts- did you recheck every bolt- especially the TB to manifold connection and the intake manifold internal ones
Overtight is as bad or worse than too loose!
Whats spraying carb cleaner at the TB connection to manifold do now?

You had the manifold off, correct? for egr port cleaning?

whats the story of the replacement TB mentioned earlier- did that get installed?
IACV cleaned before install,??,I remember a sensor causing you problem before,,?

 

I change iacv same thing? I took out the map senior out and notest o ring crack can that be he problem
