I have had what ive seen called code of death for this cars auto trans p0740 03 tl type s 130k but mine has had to code come up only if driven on the freeway or i guess freeway speeds & only in d5 since before i owned the car & it still runs & drives perfect? But id like some advice on how i can maybe fix it? Ive tryed many times to find info online but everything i find just says the trans is either dead or is goen to die soon but i think this car somehow im hoping might be fixable without replacing the transmission since the code first showed up a few yrs ago & over 10 thousand miles ago & the transmission has always & still works perfect & has never had any issues besides the cel light will come on if i put it in d5 & my girlfriend drives the car & she just always drives in d4 & its fine but for the last few months ive been trying to get it to get it to beable to drive in d5 without the cel comen on so & so far i have replaced the- dual linear solenoid, i thought the tcc solenoid? But im not sure cuz i have had a hard time finding any info about witch solenoid that is exactly but i replaced the two black & brown colored solenoids towards the front of the trans pretty much rite under the starter & both those & the dual linear solenoids made any diff then i found 2 more black & brown colored solenoids rite under the throttle body & i took the black solenoid i removed from under the starter since it made no diff i figured the one i removed should be good still & i swapped it with the black one under throttle body & that made no diff also i did the 3x3 fluid change & i put a new filter the lil round black one on top of the trans in & still i get cel when i put it in d5 & get on the highway within about 1-5 min i usually will clear the code & just put it back in d4 after that does anyone have any suggestions on what i could try next or wher to go from here? Pretty sure the trans is a factory replacment since i have blue.paint on all the trans bolts but im not sure if i have an aftermarket trans cooler or anything also the trans fluid was maybe a lil brown but didnt smell super burnt or anything didnt seem any worse then other trans fluid ive changed? I ha e a nice scanner that will tell me what all my solenoids are doen but idk what the numbers or volts or whatever should be so idk if its wrong or right? Any help would be very much appreciated thanks
