Curious to know has anyone ever had there top alternator bracket just brake completely in half? I thought I lost the alternator last night so got up early this morning to look and see what's up noticed the belt had came off as I'm pulling it out I noticed the alternator was loose so I took plastic cover off and low n behold the bracket broke right in half never heard or seen anything like it before bought a replacement for 16 bucks off Ebay this happen to anyone else?

 

It's not common but there have been a few reports. Run a search and they are easy to find.

Speculation has pointed to either a bad belt tensioner or stripped threads in the engine block where the bracket bolts to the motor on the lower part of the bracket.
