My Acura headlight housing has been dimming overtime on the outside (right, and left). The dealership informed me that they are $257 to replace each. Is their a quick D.I.Y. fix to this problem other than replacing them?

 

wetsand them with 600 then 800 then 1000+ then polish them. (with something like scratch x or the actual plastic polish that meguiars makes

 

I understand you don't want to replace them, but ebay does sell each headlight for around $100 each...and they are brand new, so there's an option rather than payiing $257 each. Dealers will grab you by the balls and squeeze at the same time.

 

If its just a little surface scratching sand it out

 

OK thanks for the response, is there any special way for me to use the sanding method? i.e. what motion, how long, how to actually do the wet sand process?
