02 sensor bung too short

i posted this under group buys,
the random technology catalytic converter buy

-----------------------------------------

Excelerate.
i installed this cat.
fit great EXCEPT the 02 sensor bung isn't long enough.
any ideas what to do?
i installed the 02 sensor but left it disconnected.
think thats bad idea?.

can i get an 02 sensor with a longer connector?

and it is installed correctly...it only goes one way.
the flanges are diffferent at each end.

have other customer had this problem?

i'm not sure what to do this.

A number of people, including Excelerate, have mentioned the fact you need to lengthen the wires going to the OS sensor with this cat. And yes, running without an O2 sensor is a VERY bad idea.

it was well noted that you would have to extend the wires. You have 2 choices. You either cut the wires and solider in a longer length or buy a extender

there is a long thread on the front page about this subject look there for your answers. I do have one question for you though, do you feel a difference in power at all?

And people wonder why all these Comptech knockoffs are so cheap.

yea so i missed the short 02 bung on the RT cat.
i ordered the extender.
it never goes smoothly.

my butt dyno feels just tiny bit of a reading with the new cat.
but i installed the new catback at the same time, so it is hard to say.

so is it really bad to run the car for few days with the 02 sensor disconnected?.

what could possibly go wrong other than CEL light, which is already showing that rear bank 02 sensor as bad.

???

I'd worry that it would screw up the catalyst.
