00 TL Chatter

00 TL Chatter

As I drive down the road, around 25 mph, I get some serious chatter. That chatter consists of front end shaking and the steering wheel shaking and the dash shaking. It only happens for a moment, then quits. I've grown up around cars and this issue has stumped me.

Whether I punch it, or stay consistent on the accelerator the shaking still happens. Any help is appreciated. I searched forum for this issue, and didn't happen to see anything.

What happens if u use as mode and get the trans in a different gear like 3rd? Or does it happen in any gear at that speed. Does it happen as the trans is shifting?

Does the engine run differently?

it happens no matter if I shift myself, or leave it in D5. Everything runs like normal, other than the shaking/chattering.

does it happen when its shifting is the question
is it trans not wanting to engage

Hey Rock938, What's your current mileage and has the maintenance been kept up ?

Has the tranny given you any problems besides what you've described at 25 mph ?
Does the "chatter and shaking" always happen at 25 mph, regardless of temperature or decelerating speeds ?
Is there any jerking or hesitation involved when this happens ?

Are you getting any dash lights.....CEL ?

it might start at the time it shifts. but it doesnt seem like a hesitation. it shifts through the chatter and the rpms stay the same as i accelerate. i noticed this morning that is only happens when the car is warm. its pretty below40 the last few days so until the temp gage is normal, it wont happen. Even when i let my foot off the gas it chatters til it gets away from 25 mph

I have 234k on her. It's on its 4th owner, ME! and it has had 3 tranny's. Im late on an oil change and the Acura tech told me the rack is leaking some. Other than that I did the timing belt water pump and seals at 200k. I got it with 179. It is an animal. Brake light and check engine both on.

I assume that you've checked all the motor and tranny mounts for wear ?
Maybe the animal is looking for a cozy place to hole up for this winter, ha...hah !

Try to keep up with the basics, as ya did good with the T-belt replacement.
Have the CEL codes checked out, it may help ya out ! Is that the regular brake light or the ABS one that's on ?
