Yakima roof rack and cargo box - pics
I'm heading out tomorrow with the wife and kids on a little road trip to PA, and figured I should probably add some more storage space. It's not the ugliest thing but it certainly isn't the prettiest. It'll be coming off as soon I get back home. Whatdya think?

And yes I'm aware that I need springs. Comptech next month!

This thing holds quite a bit of stuff. The trunk on the TL is 14.3cu. ft, and the cargo box is 15cu ft. So, basically, I've added an additional trunk that is pretty well centered on the car. It is kind of noisy with the headliner slide open but not too bad when closed. I'll be curious to see what kind of mileage I get .
The nice thing is that it comes off in about 2 minutes with 2 people, or about 5 minutes with 1 person.
I'll give you all a full report when I get back.

ps. I could allways take the box off while keeping the racks on and strap some JATO(jet assisted take off) bottles to this sucker. I bet I could get her down to low 11's

48" bars and the box is a Space Cadet....like me
Go to Yakima.com and hit choose my rack. It will ask make year model and spit out what will fit.
I'm down in PA toiling with this freakin dial up thing now. After about 8hrs on the road I must say, I'm impressed. I got almost 350 miles to a tank. I hav'nt figured out MPG yet. The noise is definately there but you quickly forget about it. There is also a little bit of aerodynamic buffeting, but that too is easy to forget about. I had the thing off with help in 2 minutes as advertised, no scuff marks or anything!
See ya,
Iggy
