What the hell should I do now???

I'm coming home from a nice evening out with my son on xmas night when this happened:

Here is the drivers car that kissed my rear:

Daytime pics:

How my 99 used to look:

The adjuster from the other drivers ins company came to give me an estimate on the damage and he said that they may write off the car, because the trunk floor was cracked on the right side a bit. I get a call today from the company and was told that there gonna cut a check for $4000.00 to repair the damage. I said WTF? That won't fix shit!! The exhaust has to be replaced, the rear quater panel folded alittle bit from the impact, etc...They told me when the car gets to the bodyshop and if the shop finds anymore damage, then they will cut a check to the bodyshop to cover any additional cost for repairs.

What do you think I should do peeps? I'm screwed trying to find a rear lip for the bodykit since there aren't in production anymore. I looked on the BM and no one has a piece for sale....I need help peeps....

It was a 1996 Toyota Avalon. The guy driving was 86 years old and the passengers(his wife in the front & sister in the rear) they were both 88 years old.

Wow judging by the other car, I would've expected there to be more damage to the TL. It looks like it held up well. That sucks, though. =(

damn that sucks they were so old. you couldn't really flip out on them i guess... lol.

4K may be enough to cover most of the damages to your rear, give or take some who knows. i would just have the body shop start taking it apart and seeing what other damage there is underneathe it all. most likely there's more you can't from the outside.

find a body shop that will write the car off
get the check and get it fixed at another shop.

profit.
or have them write the car off then part it out.

and to your rear lip question; you can easily find the ww rear lip. its really clean and lots of people here run it with oem front and sides.

looks like wax on and wax off should do the trick... j/k...

wouldnt the body shop replace the bodykit also? i mean, i think they would have a way to find another one...
sorry for the loss... my TL was hit a few years ago, 13K in damage and with labor costs, totalled up to 16K.. i really wished the insurance should have totalled the car so i could have gotten a 3G earlier..

Same thing happened to my G1 Tl right after thanksgiving. Wasn't as bad as yours actually. But the rear was pushed in a bit and the trunk opened/closed weird. cracked my tails, destroyed my muffler and b-pipe, bumper was toast, alignment was thrown off. That alone was $4k to fix. You better go to an expensive shop to get some estimates because its going to cost you around $5k at least because the rear quarter is creased. Some maxima ran into mine, his front end was comparable to that avalon's. good luck with everything!

If you can't get an OEM rear lip, have them replace it with a Wings West rear lip

get that in writing. do not take a check unless its for the full estimate. once you take the first check they arent obligated to fix shit else. get an estimate. then tell them to write a check for that amount. problem solved

That really sucks. Avalon < TL.

LOL at the old woman in the Avalon. I have a question... Who sits in their car after it has had its front smashed to hell?

Husband: Are you okay?
Wife: Yeah, I'm okay, you?
Husband: I'm okay too. Let's get out, the car could catch fire.
Wife: Naw, I'm good. I'm just gonna chill, you can check out the damage.

Thanks for all the advice peeps. My son & I are ok, we were shook up from the impact, but we weren't injured The guys insurance company sent me a copy of the estimate of repairs & I think the amount there sending me could be more. My boy was telling me I should take the car to the acura bodyshop @ the dealer & have them do the repairs. The amount would prob be more than what they offered me & they would cut a supplement check for the remaining work.
I dnt know what to do. If anything I wud try and purchase the bumper, exhaust, new tails from the check and whatever else is needed for repairs the bodyshop wud have to request more bread. Do you think that cud work?

Geezz... I was trying to find pics of a WDP as I use to own a similar one modded identical, but it hurt me when I saw these pics!! The only happiness I got in this thread was to see how bad you fucked that car up... LOL!

Just be happy everyone was safe and you were actually able to take pics and rant.

god damn old drivers S-U-C-K... funny thing is i was with my grandpa... (83 years old) adn he was saying how he had to go renew his license a few years ago and the young (30 year old) woman who was doing the "on-the-road" testing with my grandpa told him that he really shouldnt be driving because he BARELY passed the test... and my grandpa looked at me and said "i looked over at that little girl and said, look little lady, i've been driving for 40 years before you were born, don't tell me i barely passed the test" and i tried to fake laugh but in my head i was like jesus freaking old drivers... GAH they make me angry on a dailyyyy basis! sorry about the rear lip and the freakin hassle... people suck!

Try going thru your own insurance company. I had the same type of accident on my 2000 TL and my insurance company immediatly totaled the car. The other guys insurance just doesn't want to pay more then $4000. I know ppl say that your rate will jump up but honestly mine didn't!

That's how I got my 05 TL, so give it a try btw...i have state farm.

Glad your okay, sorry about the car . You should take it to a acura dealership to get it repaired right, even if its more expensive. As long as insurance will pay for it.
