Bye Bye 2G
Well I have been on this forum for a year now, when I got my 99 TL. Well, 99 is no more. I got a 05 TL and I have been drivign that around for the last 2 months. Yesterday I drove the 2g to work for the first time in 2 months and I totaled it. It was my fault since I rear ended someone but the roads were too icy and I couldn't really stop in time. I just got 2 pics I took right when the cops showed up. I am fucked by insurance now so I wont be driving my 3G any time soon either.

anyone local in Edmonton can pm me and come and get stuff they need for really really cheap of it.

yea everyone says they are OK, but you never know if the guy int eh other car is gonna wake up with pain or something. I understand that it was my fault, I over reacted to something that was almost a potential threat and then this happened. There was a guy trying to turn right in front of me and he was 1/3 in my lane and stoped so I swearver around him and looke in the rearview mirror to see what is going on. When I looked down I could see the cars are slowing down, not compleatly stoped. But they had more time to slow down then me, and I just slid into him. His car is totaled too as he went under a truck in front. Only his back bumper is messed up in the back tho and look at my front end. now I gotta pay for my mistakes, Live and learn I guess.
Just be lucky u didnt take the 3g to work instead of the 2g. But damn thats sucks happend to me b4 i totaled my corolla but the dude i hit didnt leave a scratch on him at all. He had a big ass monster truck!

oh yea man the 1 day I drove the 2g I crashed. I guess it was luck in a bad luck situation. I only drove it cuz it has an engine block heater and my 3g doesn't yet and it was too cold outside, -40ish celsius I think with wind.

he doesn't need a lesson in driving.
he lives in edmonton and has only crashed once at the ripe old age of 23.
sucks to hear that man. sometimes things just happen and there was nothing you could do about it.

that sucks man. I don't know if edmonton is anything like calgary. Calgary and Banff are the only places I've been in Canada and the traffic was terrible in Calgary...combined with all that snow it's never good

The first pic is the saturn I hit. His back bumper was messed up but nothing else inteh back and that was it, the most damage was up front when he got stuck under the truck.. Both cars are totaled I am guessing. His air bags didn't deploy but the car is a piece of shit and not worth fixing. My dad is looking for another 2G now since my mom loved the car. I am trying to tell him not to since the tranny problems but he wont listen

Just got a call from insurance people and it turns out that my parents car did not have a 2 way insurance so I won't be getting any money for it, and I am shit out of luck with that. And the saturn that is totaled, never called the insurance or filed a claim, only the truck that the saturn hit. Its a company car so they did it right away. I thought I was off the hook but apparently they have 1 year to claim the insurance on the car, and 2 years if they got hurt. My insurance is calling the person in a saturn today and then they will let me know what the damage is to my pocket. so TL is deffinitelly bye bye now and is going to the junk yard after this weekend

well I wanna part it out, except I don't have a place to keep the car. I posted it up for parts on a local forum and someone asked me how much i wanted for the engine. I don't know what to tell them, how much would a good running engine with 110 miles go for? Never did the timing belt or anything to it either. 500-1000? more less? please some input on this, I am trying to get as much as I can from the car

I will say a 1000 or the best offer. THis is canada and these cars are hard to come by wrecked. And also the prices for the parts are much much more expensive. 1000 OBO so we'll see what happens
Hey Myron, sorry to see your 2G got destroyed. I'm from St. Albert, and shit man I was worried enough about driving on these shit roads that I spent 1300 bucks on some new Nokian Hakka Rs for my TL. I'm not taking any chances.
A friend of mine from work had the same thing happen to her lude that she had had recently custom painted with a factory molded kit. Fortunately for her it's not totaled, but there's some pretty good front end damage.
Edmonton's shitty roads + shitty drivers + shitty traffic = one hell of terrible winter cocktail

little update
somewhat good news. car is getting fixed this week. Damage=3000$ (more if I went to the shop to rip me off). Everything is getting done by my dad's friend who is a mechanic. parts were a little hard to come by, I am guessing these cars arent that popular at junk yards. The biggest save was that the same mechanic found air bags for the car for 140$ where the dealership wanted 1800$ just for the parts. That was pretty much the reason my parents decided they wanna fix the car. And since I am paying for the fix and not having to buy them a new car, it worked out for me as well. In that price its also included, timing belt, water pump and everything else that needs to be done to the car with 112k. So the car will be in the family for another 2 years hopefully and I will have more money to spend on my 3g. Will take some pics when we get the car back
