Washed and Painted Emblem Mod

Well I decided to debadge the Acura lettering and paint the "A" emblem smoked chrome. I washed the emblem with dawn, then degreased using Mar-Hyde total prep, and then 2 light coats of Duplicolor Metalcast smoked chrome ten minutes apart, and finally one final thicker coat, then let it dry for a day and used a very thin layer of 3M emblem and adhesive glue on the back side of the emblem to put it back on the car. Lemme know what you guys think. Click any pic for full size.

Thanks. I thought the color contrast worked nicely. Might do a light tail light tint to go with it too.

I wonder if this would work on the door handles, chrome trim around the windows, and the front grille...... and also chromed wheels as well....

I like the idea of this look. I just put on my brothers chrome 3G stockies and I wonder if that kind of paint would hold on wheels.

The metalcast paint is designed to be applied over chrome and chrome colored plastic, but if your going to put it on the wheels or the front grille you should get the metal cast ground coat that's designed to work with that type of paint. And def use a final clearcoat as well on the wheels, heck even the grill due to rock chips ect..

I actually have a set of headlights just sitting in storage ready to get painted. I'm using depos right now cos of water intrusion in the stock ones. The depos actually have great fitment, but mess with the clean light cut-off a little bit.

I know this was a question for jjashaa ,but since he didn't reply I'll give you my answer. The depos are noticeably worse in light cut-off. It's blurry due to the shape of the bulb cover reflector thingy if that makes any sense. Fitment is no issue at all though. I've gotten used to it, but it's not crisp like the cutoff on the third gen or the TSX, and def worse than regular 2nd gen housings. Here's the fitment with depos on my car. Click for a larger pic:
