try sanding the entire thing with some 800 grit sandpaper. should pretty much even the paint, then jus spray the entire thing with 2 more "not too thick" coats. Wait for it to dry an hour at least before putting it back in.

Its not that bad....but Im doin tha same with my dads car this weekend.(I dunno why)
Did you use primer? Try no to rush and do light coats. What happened to your battery cover? When I do it, I plan to paint the engine cover, battery cover and the cover for that little box to the left.....wish me luck...ill post up the results when done.

Maybe try letting it dry for a long time in between coats of primer / paint?

its ok, just sand with 220 grit to smooth out, (then 400 wet for best finish) . then the key to painting is MANY LIGHT COATS! dont try to do it all in 1 coat. it will never work that way. many thing coats will build and lay better and look better.. then dont get anxious to put it on. let it sit over night and dry. (you can drive the car with out it) then when fully dry install

i would recomend not using the discount auto paint

go to your fav local body shop friend and sand down and do prep work for him and throw him 20$ or whatever to spray and clear......

i did this, and was pretty happy with results..........

What I'd say to do. To get the look right. Be patient and put a coat on, wait an hour, proceed for 3-4 coats and let it dry overnight. You probably wanted to get it on quickly to see the new look (hence the finger prints). Just sand it and take it to a body shop. They'll get it done (airbrushed) for 20 bucks.

Finally resanded the paint..used engine high heat paint by duplicolor in aluminum and it came out perfect.

Basically a perfect color match in my eyes

Not dissin but IMPO I dont think theres a need to do anything to the engine cover. It looks great shined up and also matches everything else when its black but will say second time came out much much better.

can you put like a gloss coat on top or just get a glossy paint. to give it that shiny look?
