TSX rims on my '99 TL (pics)

The car isnt very clean because Im in Houston for the week, and it has rained off and on. BTW this is with Comptech springs. I think they look real good on the TL, and you can find them pretty much new very easy and much cheeper than some used Type S rims. They fit perfect with the same offset and are larger 17 x 7 inch.

The color of the rim seems almost too bright against the dark color of the car. It looks pretty good, but I think it would look even better with a dimmer color for the wheels.

ya maybe (what about chrome wheels on a black car??), but I got a good deal on these and I didnt feel like over-doing it. Plus, they look much better than the stock 16 inchers. thanks though

They look fanatastic! Much better than the stock rims. I have the same model car, so thanks for letting me see how they look!

thanks all for the comments. I really like them alot. I didnt want to mess with expensive aftermarket rims, but I really needed an upgrade from the crappy '99 rims - I think all went great.

nice ousig you finally got them rims

so how come you stayed with stock tires? there are plenty of all-sesaon/winter tires out there that are better for the $ imo
btw have you weighed the TSX 17's vs the stock 16's?

they look good btw!

Ya I know, about the whole stock tire thing. I needed new tires anyway and these were virtually brand new. The roads are all good here, and I wont have to drive in snow that often, so I figgured they would be ok. Anyway, I got the rims and tires cheeper than getting only new tires - I really wanted the rims, so I just went for it.

BTW I will sell my stock 16's if anyone needs a set for winter use.

Looks good. How much of a drop do you have with the Comptechs? I have a DEP TL also, but am afraid of getting a 4x4 look if I put on larger wheels w/stock springs.

you will definately get the 4x4 look if you dont drop it. I think the Comptech drop like 1.75 inch in the front and 1.5 in the back. If you dont have a system, you could get the HR Sport springs. They have a very similar drop, but its the same all around.

I got them off a guy on the TSX site...looks like I paid a little too much after seeing alot of other TSX rims for sale, I paid ($750) including shipping. Not too bad considering the tires are basically brand new. I have already got a few compliments - nice upgrade, but not too much.

not a bad price at all especially for OEM rims.. since dealers will charge 1000+ for the set with those crappy michellins..

it is a great upgrade, but its simple and nice. people dont get another oem rims from the factory to get huge compliments or to show off, its mostly so that they want to keep that clean factory look.

but its still a great investment and a huge improvement compared to our TL-P rims.. AGGHH im so sick of the rims that i still have on. so freakin ugly.
