took a torch to one of the coils on each side of the springs to loosen it up and the springs just readjusted itself and settle an inch lower. spray it with cold water to heal it back up and it' just as strong as it was before. so technically, still on factory springs, no cuts wat-so-ever. still rides like factory, no bounce, not stiff. it actually rides alot better than one of my friend's who dropped his car on teins H-tech.

buddies of mine has been doin it for years so he was use to it, but we measured it to be sure. it only dropped when it touched the flame, when we pulled away it stopped.

I didn't think i would get chrome either, but it just matches my emblems, door handles and door sills, so i just said watever.... at least it ain't gangsta chrome

Cut springs are horrible. Whatever floats your boat. I think you could of chosen better rims for it but there still nice though.

well he heated them, has the same effect. It'll still mess up the spring/rebound rates.

not good for the springs omg dangerous. Springs are what, a couple hundred bucks? Man get some real springs as you have severely changed and weakened the properties of the stock springs.

you guys are right about that, i have thought about it, but we've done it for years already on many cars including many of our own, I felt the same about my car but decided to just try it and see what happens. Got my H-tech right here in case tho. But i'll keep ya posted on what happens.

Uhhh ... that's not true. You changed the structural property of the spring by heating it to the point where it melted and sunk down by gravity. Most likely, the spring will SNAP at that point where you heated them (when the structural integrity gives in).

Looks good now but when they snap ... not cool. I would definitely NOT recommend this technique.

nice work.

but technically when u heat the spring up, only one coil is literally being bent at an angle sharper than the rest of the coils so that it would "drop". Sso that would be a weak point as it would not carry the weight evenly across the coil.

risque, but if it works, it works

WOW...I'm starting to wonder if our tail lights are bright enough. That's way to many rear-end accidents lately. Actually it's probably because there are so many people who just don't pay enough attention when they are driving. Sorry to hear about that.
