Painted Grilles

I wanna see some pics from those of you who have painted your grille body color. I have a few different ways in my head, but I want to actually see some. (just the outside, the whole thing, ect)

Thanks!

Well I have been photoshopping my Grill, colored matched, it looks pretty good to me, but then again sometimes you want that original look, that defines our cars, but lately i been thinking about doing colored matched door handles.

i would say color match the chrome on the hood and the bottom edge and then paint the grille gloss black and leave the emblem and wing chrome. i dunno how itll look on ssm tho, dark UA5's ftw. xD

This is a good idea. I need to either paint or replace my chrome piece on the hood-might be a good time to go ahead and try painting.

Dang it....I didn't strip off that whole reflective gold coating on my grill (my grille was gold) I just sanded it down a bit, then primered and painted it....now it's winter and my paint is chipping off the grill in places.

I should probly get a black chrome grill or something heheh.

I think I've only seen you're car once but from what I remember the grill looked pretty clean the way you painted it

Heres mine in graphite:

sorry about the dirty car

For some reason it is showing up darker in the pics than it actually is, and looks like the color of the grille inlay. Its actually a lighter color, dont know why my camera didnt pick it up.

I would paint the outer chrome body color and leave the inner wing and emblem chrome. Maybe paint the backing body color too.

Not the same year as yours but like i described

i did mine two days ago. all fully black. flat black. one of those low-gloss flat black engine paints.

its flat, with a bite of a live color to it. unlike those straight up flat black paints wich turn gray sooner or later

ill post a pic up soon. but gotta say. painted grille doesnt match on light color cars. (grey, bronze, white)

if you got black, or any of the acura weird shades of black. go for it.
if you got chrome rims. dont do it. doesnt match
i painted my rims flat black, with the grille flat black. looks pretty damn good.

got red cherry bombs, so painted engine and cold air intake red.

Haha...yeah now it only looks clean from about 20 feet away.

I love the black grille though. Might repaint it over the summer a lil better.
