Now you can boost past the TL-S. How much does a setup like that run? Do you have the Big brake kit as well to slow that baby down?

You should test the kit out and race mine next time I come to CT. I have a nitrous express kit also but I have the ntercooler kit. Congrats on the install!

Hey all. The system runs really nice. You feel it much more when you shift then if you stay in full auto as it runs off WOT. From 30 (@3500-3800rpms )- 80 mph it screams.... I think both Josh(Excelerate) and I had perm-a-grin on our faces for like 30 mins after the first solid run. It feels so slow now when just normal...and I really thought it was pretty quick for a family sedan...

The install took a while (over 6 hrs) to do it right and keeping it looking really clean.

Anyone who wants a ride is always welcome..

The kit is set up off the throttle via the micro switch, aka WOT switch. It is a wet kit too. The kit runs about $625 and the bottle warmer costs about $235.

How much does the entire bottle last you?.. like whenever you use it, how much liquid is used and how much is left?

Was that kit on before or after the meet in Mass? I didn't even notice it had all of that until after I took a look at this thread. lol

I'm still working on that. I'm just about to put a guage on it and will have a better idea. They said I should have about 1 1/2 mins on a full bottle..so I guess it depends how long you floor it each time for boost.

Nope...my friend w/ the 06 6mt kept getting me by 1/2 a car length on the way home. I was PISSED!!!! Needless to say I just couldn't let that happen...

Now just going to add some headers...when my wallet recovers and a oem kit and I think I will probably be done...yea right

Can you provide a step by step as to how you engage and use the nitrous? For example, when do you start the nitrous and when do you cut it off? when do you shift...etc.

Also what about the nitrous warmer and bottle opener? do you keep them turned on all the time whenever you drive, or you would have to go turn them on everytime when you are about to use your nitrous?

The Nitrous will only come one when you hit wide open throttle. There is a switch installed that will only engage when you floor it and the actual throttle pushes the switch. To cut it off, you just take your foot off the gas a little and it will switch off. It doesn't matter what gear you're in to use it... I have yet to try it from a dead stop. Don't want to just sit and spin the tires and not looking to toast my low gears. I have hit it at the top of second gear into third even though this is the "weak" spot on our tranny. I've done it a few times without issues. I normally hit it in third when the rpms are about to hit vtec.

I don't have an opener. I do it manually. As for the warmer, it makes a BIG difference. To get full power from the nitrous the bottle should be at about 900- 950 pounds of pressure. On a say 60 degree day the bottle is only at about 650 pounds. There is a switch, see first pic, that arms the system..bottle must be turned open, and a second switch that turns on the warmer. The warmer also has a built in termostat that will shut the warmer off if it feels the pressure going above 1000 ponds and will turn back on below I think 800 or 850 pounds.

Hope that helped.

How much is it for a new bottle/refill once the previous one is all empty? ... and this nitrous kit... whenever you floor it and it turns on, how fast can you get it to go from 60 to 100?... to 120?.. hopefully 140? lol

For $625 for the kit.. that's not a bad price at all... I'd just be pissed if you're racing someone on the highway and it'd only last for so little time until you're back to slowness again... you know? lol

Well you keep your bottle and they just refill it. I found a place that will do a fill for $3 a pound so a full bottle will only cost $30 to fill.

I have no idea on the 60 -100 times but I know I passed a truck the other day and was in 3rd gear at about 4000 rpms when I punched it so the nitrous would kick in. I was in 5th gear REALLY fast, stayed in 4th for maybe 1 or 2 secs if that before had to shift up to 5th. A full fill should last about 1 1/2 mins. In drive/use time that's a LONG time if you think about how it's used.

Yea 120 is easy...been to like 130-135 or so but started to run out of road.

If you ever think about getting a kit, the bottle warmer is a MUST. If your bottle pressure is low your spray is almost worthless....

How does the wiring work? Did you wire it to the Throttle Position Sensor? Can you take a closer pic of it?

I wouldnt go "too fast" and spray nitrous in 5th. When I had a civic ex w/ gsr swap .....sprayed(zex kit though) and a few seconds after a shifted to 5th, engine was toast. ...not sure what happened. I just never really felt comfortable when I was spraying on the tl pass 4th gear. Be safe.

Since you have nitrous now, you going to come down to maryland and run my stock tl?? lol

I'll try to take a pic and then post it. I need to take the engine cover off to show it. It basically is a long lever the when you get to wide open throttle the throttle lever actually pushes into the switch. Think of it like a old carb set-up. The mechanical w.o.t. pushes into the lever on the switch activating the nitrous.

It may take me a couple days to post the a pic as I'm not really rushing out into rain and getting it done. Over 12 days of rain..woo hoo...I just want it to end!!!

I'm doing a few mods in the next couple days and am planning on clear coating my engine cover. When I take it off I'll post the pics.

Yea OK..when you have a "stock" TL we'll talk...LOL You have more speed issues than I do..Mr..SC and a Bottle!!

I got off the spray as soon as I went into 5th. No reason to keep spraying. That and my friend who was in his 06 TL 6mt was like 2 or 3 cars behind me there wasn't much point. Yea, he's pissed!

It could've been possible, you red-lined the engine and it over heated.. witnessed it happen to a lancer once.

I know i'm late on this thread, but i don't plan on keeping my car for more than 10 more months, so i don't really want to SC but I have an addiction that needs fulfillment. Where'd you get this install done? That looks ridiculously well done, and i'd be momre than willing to drive to CT to let whoever did yours get his hands on mine.

Well it's been a little while now after the install and have worked out a few of the kinks. I had to add a spacer under two of the engine cover bolts as the pressure from the cover was pushing down on the switch made it move. I couldn't figure why it wasn't kicking in some times.

Now that it's all done it's friggin scarrrrryyyy... I hit it the other night at about 80mph and the car literally shook and took off like it was possessed!

If you do it you totally need a bottle warmer..you need to keep the bottle pressure up and it's the best way!

You can contact Josh at Excelerate...he's a member / vendor on here...or at (203) 483-6100

Disturbing thoughts...

VERY NICE! Would love to see someone do this to a TL-S though, I couldn't imagine......
... the thought itself is scary. After all of the regular bolt on mods, you're already pushing close to or past the 300hp mark (depending on the condition of the car)... With this mod, you'd maybe do 360-400hp or more... DEFINITELY SCARY. I wonder though.. is it possible to use such a kit along with the car that's already supercharged? Even more so, if this is possible, has anyone in the TL forum ever done such a thing without failure happening?
