Just curious, do you need to drill holes to mount the ski rack?? I wonder what mechanism is holding it in place..

the red is the pads which sid on the roof.

the blue is like a l bracket that matches the curve inside the door jam. this cases the foot to get pulled down and causes it to bend the top toward the door. with the bar installed through the 2 feet it tightens up. won't budge. i can hit the rack pretty hard with my hand and it won't budge. but there is no drilling.

Do you think it would fit over a sunroof visor. Not that it would be that difficult to take off the visor if it didn't, I was just wondering.

the fairing is optional. i bought a package so it came with it and i like the way it looks. all the bolts for the fairing are like 5 inch slotted so theres alot of adjustments that could be made. but i am sure right as it is now it would fit.

I have the same rack for my car too - snowboards in the winter and mtn bikes in the summer. Anyways, when I bought the rack like 2 yrs ago I didn't see the fairing that you have on your car. I have the one thats listed on the Thule site.

Where did you get that Fairing? How much?

Looking good... the front crossbar needs to be more towards the front. The fairing should be at the weatherstripping of the windshield.

Yeah, my fairing is the snowboard looking one. I haven't boarded at Camelback in a couple years. Usually try to make it to Windham or make a trip to VT.

if it goes further foward the contact on the clamped part in the door is compromised because the top startsto curve down for the window curve. i tired moving it up and i couldn't get the fairing to sit flush to the roof right by the weather stripping.

in the directions it says to measure out a certain amount from the weather stripping. so if the directions say to do so i did what it said.

i did the right measurments according to the thule instructions. theres only a few inches from windshield to the fairing. i tried with it up further and i couldn't get it to contact all the way around.

its no big deal its gonna come off ina month or two any ways.

thanks again
