you'll find a nice "ring" around Cold Canyon / Mulholland / Stunt / Piuma Rd... and that is where we cruised

absolutely beautiful weather.
5 of us in 3 cars... Celica, Elise, TL

ran into a lot of other nice cars and bikes along the way and @ the turnouts... as you'll see the STi's, 996 GT3's, Ducati's, and Buell below. wish i could have captured more shots, but i can always go back another time

and as usual... used my trusty canon 350d, and no special filters used for effects, etc.

a couple of these are HDRI (high dynamic range images), just started getting familiarized with the technique and playing around in photoshop.































and some from a recent shoot... posted these on OT but thought I should share them here too

 

Awesome, those pics of the porches look Incredibly Professional,. they belong on a calander or Owners manual or SOMETHING. Quite Splendid.

I was out in Malibu a few weeks ago on PCH and spotted that Bentley sports car, a RolZ, Ferrari F430, Maseratti, Porsches, all within a half mile... Then when I reached Santa Monica, it was all accords and civics... booooo.

late responses... sorry about that:

no prob Justin... for most of them im using a canon 350d with the 28-105mm lens, and some with the bundled 18-55mm.

we should get a thread going then huy.. i'm down for it. this might be similar to all the other threads like "post fav TL/CL/TSX shots" but we would HAVE to narrow it down to 12 rides (or 24 if we use 2 cars per month). also high-res images will be needed for sure... the shots that we usually post up are too small for printing purposes.

my friend with the elise actually recently compiled a '07 calendar feat a couple lexus, lambo, viper, & elises based on an official lambo calendar format and turned out really nice. i could get some help from him too

HDR works great when there is a high contrast of light in the image you want to capture (sun behind person, bright & shade areas, reflections & darker contours on car, etc.) the idea is relatively simple: capture a single shot multiple times (use tripod to keep same frame) with a range of exposures - the darker images reveal the details in the bright areas, and the brighter images reveal the dark areas. combine those images (usually 3, 4, or more) into a single composition with details in bright AND dark areas.

you should def consider moving here... just beware of super high home prices in the metro areas!!

Its not as hard to take pictures when you got stunning cars there. I love the hosts though. I am sure you have enjoyed those pictures!!!
