Talking Kaixen 8500K HID bulbs Installed on SSM 99TL-p

Ok, i bought the Kaixen 8500K HID bulbs (crystal blue) from excelerate (vendor on the forum) for $150 shipped to my door. EXCELERATE IS THE SHIT by the way. Anyways, they arrived as usual and i installed them. Install was deff a little moderate trouble but not bad once i installed the 1st bulb. The driver side bulb is easier to install then the passenger side bulb for sure.

Here are some pics of before and after. Since i just did this install in the closed garage while my parents were asleep, i was not able to take it outside to take full body car pics. I will take full body car pics tommorow night and get a chance to drive with them on the road to see how i like them. When i first turned them on my first impression was awsome. I was all excited. I decided to leave them on for a full 10min to warm up and somewhat break in a tiny bit since there so new. I thought they might color shift as well being that there new. So i too before pics and then i took some pics after with the new bulbs in. Now in the pics below, the Kaixen 8500K bulbs i have in look very much BLUE which i like, but in person they don't really look blue like the camera shoes. I did make sure the camera was white balanced before i took the pics but in person they look like a nice bright white which i do like but i don't see the true blue yet. Maybe its cuz there so new still and they havent had adequite time to adjust and change to there actual blue color. Has anyone elses 8000K or 8500K looked like white instead of blue when first turned on???? Will the bulbs change color more after some more break in time??? Anyways, the last pic is the best pic that shows how they look to me in person.

thats why I like 6000k in person. 8000+ is good for showing off at car shows, but the beam spread trails off so much sooner than stock.

Well, just me seeing them in my closed garage as you can see in the pics, they looked pretty damn bright. As far as visibility (like how far they actually shoot on the road) im not sure yet because i wasnt able to take it out the garage last night. But i got class today and later tonight ill go for a drive and see how i like them compared to stock. It really can't be that bad because they wouldnt make them if they were that dangerous, thats how i finally came to the conclusion that i was getting them.

Nah, i asked excelerate and he said there not illegal. The Kaixen box that the bulbs came in even says on the outside of it that there legal. I see cars with HID's like these all the time out where i live but im not sure if any of them get pulled over alot for it. Whats the worst that could happen, they give me a warning and tell me that i should change them. If it really becomes that bad of a problem, i'll go back to stock.

looks great! The visibility should be about the same if your old 4300k's were originals.. at least that was the case with me.

You don't need a conversion kit to put 8500K in our TL's. The stock ballasts are fine. You just change the bulbs, thats it.

Just wanted to let you all know that the visibility is a tiny bit less but not to the point where its like OMG THIS SUCKS or dangerous. Its awsome when you drive through dark areas on the road where theres not much light and you just see that nice ass blue color light up the road, SO SICK, and the white dashes just get lit up bright white. Its hot, i really enjoyed driving with them last night. I say get them if your contemplating on getting them,

Yes, $150 shiped to your door, plus like $4 more if you pay with pay pal so its like $154. But anyways, you can order them from EXCELERATE, he's a vendor on this forum. He's like my main supplier of all my car shit i buy. He's got the best prices by far and hes safe to do business with, very reputable. You can hit him up on aim, his screen name is Excelerate04 And he'll talk to ya about it and answer any questions you have. I'm not sure how long the bulbs are made to last but even if its 2 years, thats fine with me because i'll have this car for 3 more years. But whatever, i dont really care about the lifespan of the bulbs. I know they'll last good as long as you don't turn them on and off when its not needed. Anyways hit me back if you need help. Oh and i installed the bulbs myself, fairly easy. I can guide you through the install on AIM if you want.

nah, the company, kaixen only makes certain color temps. The highest one they make is the 13,000K i think it is which is that purple shit. That blueish/purple you could probably find from another brand. I thin excelerate only sells the KAIXEN brand though. I like mine alot though.

Arrow KAIXEN 8500K HID Light Spread Pics

Ok, a friend of mine used his kodak digi cam to take some night pics of the HID's shinning on the ground of course just so all of you can see how the light output is roughly. The pics are in original form, no brighting or photo shop work done to them. I will say this, my friend took the pics and i really didnt care how they were quality wise or composition wise. If some of you have seen the World Premier Thread i made a while back, you know that i have an eye for taking pictures and how they should look, this friend of mine is not to good with photos but whatever, here are 3 pics just to give you guys an idea of how they are K. And yes that camera he has sucks at night. The cam i used for my World Premier pics was a nice Nikon 6mpx that had a good size lens.

Yeah, they work good out on the road. The only downside obviously is that the light output is less then stock, but thats what you have to give up in order to have the nice lookin lights. Its not to the point though were its dangerous or anything. Idk, i like them and i have no problem with em.
