Its coming along. The rims will look good but definately get those coilovers in there so it dont be looking like a chevy riding high

Nice car! My old TL was Laguna green, that is one of the best colors. A couple of things though. Did you mean to spell your user name CAILgirl2k or was it supposed to be CALIgirl2k? Also, on your cardomain page you wrote that your car has 270 hp. It's actually 225 hp unless you have some performance mods that you haven't mentioned.

 

are you sure its a 2001? Cause the navigation unit in the trunk is the hard drive based unit, that only came on the 1999 tl's. Also the shiftgate looks to be only a 4spd also found on a 1999 tl only.

Anyways I been trying to buy some coilovers but Im unsure of what to get can someone suggest some are there brands thats better than the other? Please help..

 

Theres a few you can choose from...

Coilovers:

Tein Basic
Tein SS
K Sport

and if you want springs and shocks combo lots of people go with H&R Sport with tokico blues.

As for myself I have the Tein H Tech springs with KYB GR-2 shocks.

not to be rude, but i just want to make sure that you know what year your car is...because from the looks of things, you have a 4 speed transmission that only came in the 99 year TL. you can tell for sure if you go into sportshift mode and go through all the gears and if it ends up in 4, then it's a 99 and if it ends up in 5th, then i guess someone just changed your shiftgate cover and you do have an 01. i just wanted to know since c0v3rr1d3 spotted it in your pic.

Yea, the mirror definitely has the bubble in it. Try and contact Dani at Magna Donnelly for a free replacement.

The shift gate and navi would imply that it is a 99, not 2001 so make sure you find out which one it is b/c some parts will only fit the 99 and not 2000-01. Most parts are interchangeable, but some are year specific.

 

We have girls drive TL's....what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am kidding. Too bad picture didn't show, even though I did see the car. So you have both TL and Beemer???? where do you work and what do you do

 

The shift gate has a D5, I had a 99 and my Navi in the trunk did not look like that, plus the pic says DVD-ROM. This is a 2001 like she said. Anyone bother super-sizing the pics and reading???

Sneaky, sneaky...I did not know the pics were changed. I retract my previous sarcastic comment...kind of...

 

look at the gear indicator lights in the cluster....there isn't a spot for 5 gears.

 

Now this is starting to get old.. YES I took new close up pic to show it's a 01 TL you guys are funny don't you think I know what I bought. So why question it? I'm not trying to be sneaky.. I'm on here asking for help in continuing to fix it up not to debate on what year it is. Last time its a 2001 TL.

 

You don't need to further explain. The D5 light is there just as plain as day. What you do need to do is get busy putting those wheels on and taking pics!

Did you use to have a 99 Tl before u got the 01? cause the original pics on your cardomain page clearly showed a 99
