its a nice headunit, works seamlessly with the ipod which i use the most. the only thing is when you want to play video from your ipod you have to manually select the videos from the ipod itself. but now i just end up burning DVD's and that way i can scroll through them easier.

Looks Great! Did you replace the stock speakers also or just the headunit? Also, did you have an adapter for the oem harness or did you have to rewire for the new headunit? Thanks!

I kept the stock speakers, but i notice it doesnt sound good at high volumes, i believe this is because its still running through the stock amp. In the future i plan to change the speakers out and run an amp to them and get a JL W1 for more bass, im not into having a huge system. To hook the headunit to the factory harness i just bought a metra harness and wired it up as usual. I hope this answers your questions.

That looks sweet!!
Is something like this feasible with a car that has nav? It looks sweet but I don't know if I really wanna go through all the work ok doing new speakers and a new amp. I'd wanna keep my stock speakers and amp, but everyone that I know that has put in an after market HU said they stock speakers sound like crap.

yea it was a DIY, it took me about 45 mins, ive installed quite a few stereos in friends cars, and i just searched on here to find oout how to remove the headunit. its pretty basic. the good thing about the clarion is that its all one peice meaning you dont have to mount the processor or what ever you call it elsewhere.

Thanks so much for the reply. My stock headunit recently went out and so I was considering an aftermarket unit to replace it. I have a JL 12W6V2 running off a JL 500/1 amp. This is all wired to run off my sock headunit. I was trying to figure out a way to replace the stock headunit without having to rewire the entire car. This is great news. So with the metra harness, you just need to connect on end to the headunit and the other end to the stock wire harness? No wire cutting and splicing required?

Yea you dont have to rewire the whole car, all u need is the metra harness then the only thing you have to do is attach it to the harness that comes with the headunit ( i like using butt connectors and a crimping tool). once that is done just plug the metra harness to the oem connector in the car and the other end into the HU and ur ready to go

Very clean looking install. I just posted something about double din head units on stock speakers.

Is your speakers stock? If so how does it sound on the stock BOSE speakers with this head unit?

Does this unit have the real time traffic option with Sirius or XM as well?

yea the speakers are stock. the bose speakers sound alright, but not great definatly will upgrade them in the future. i belive its XM ready but does not have the real time traffic option. this is the 07 model though clarion just released a new 7 inch one.
