I always wanted to do it to my 02 TL, but I'm afraid to take everything apart and not being able to put it back together again.

Theres nothing risky involved. Taking apart the grill is as easy as 1, 2, 3 your done. Putting it back together is the same thing. SUPER EASY. I'm not sure though how the 02 TL's grill comes apart or what not but its probably the same process. If you have a 99 like me, go for it. Not hard at all.

The Mesh slants inward slightly. Its all even though. See, to you, it doesnt seem right because you put just the A on top of the mesh. What i had to do was cut out the shape of the wing and A so that the mesh sit in there all the way against the back and at the same time the mesh has to be in between the chrome piece and the grill piece so that its tight and snug so thats why it slants inward a little. But its like that for anyone who did it the same way as me.

Good work but I hope you sanded and primed the mesh before you painted it. Gutter guard will oxidize and will start to flake the paint off in short order. That and any rocks/debris will pretty much ruin that beautiful paint job.

I am planning to do the same thing for the fake fog holes on my 99 BUT I plan to sandblast the gutter guard, prime and paint it with an epoxy paint used for painting kitchen appliances.
