Driving to work in the morning and all of a sudden my tranny starts slipping...then finally went out

I bought this car bone stock (no oem lip either) 60k miles ago, then found Azine and started modding it up. I guess I'm gonna have to start thinking about a new car after I get it back from the shop with the new tranny put in.

 

im sorry top hear about that man. car looks hot too. well if you part out the car DIBZZZ on the oem body kit!!!

 

Take it to the stealer. They'll warranty at least part of the repair. After the repair, you can expect to drive it for at least a couple more years before it does it to you again.

ahh sorry to hear about that man.. it would be the right thing to think about another car once you get it back from the shop. i made that mistake and rip tranny #2 and rip tranny #3 for me! lol

Yeah guys, the first time I came onto Azine I couldn't help but notice all the threads and comments about this car's tranny. It was always in the back of my head too since I really love this car but I guess that day finally came. I've had the car for almost 3 years now so if I move on, it was worth it. If this wasn't a re-occurring issue, I'd definitely keep this car forever. It's practically been a worry free car all these years..never let me down once.. Great car.

Might have to find an 07-08 TL-S next haha.

damn that sucks man, I was in the same situation if i should keep the car or not after my tranny went out 3 weeks ago.

I decided to keep it for another year or 2. I think if you drop money on a new tranny, you should drive that tranny.

lol If I did a 6-speed swap, that would lead to a green light for a Comptech supercharger. I really think I would do something like that haha.

Thanks guys....Well just got her back. Driving nice and quiet again. Spring is here now, I'll give it a month and I'll know what to do. Looking for either a NBP 3G Type S, or an 05-08 RL Aspec.
