2003
Available only in Canada, Acura released an A-SPEC version of its popular TL Type-S. This edition was limited to 800 units, 400 in Nighthawk Black Pearl (NBP) and 400 in Aegean Blue Pearl (ABP). The differences between the A-SPEC and non-A-SPEC were cosmetic. This trim came with a full painted skirt kit. The A-SPEC featured blue perforated leather accents found on the steering wheel, the shift knob ( which was also different), the seats and the door panels. The rest of the black leather was stitched with a matching blue thread. The front headlights, front grille and door handles were painted same as the body color instead of the chrome found on other trims. Side turning markers were also exclusive to this model. Aluminum accents replace the black ones on the center console and the doors. There were also aluminum Acura door sills on the A-SPEC. The wheels were also model specific. The A-SPEC also got a new spoiler with red lights on either side of it. To top it off there were subtle A-SPEC badges on the carpets and under the usual 3.2 TL Type-S badges.

ya i've got one and its one of only 400 since they made 400 black and 400 blue.....i've driven my friends 2002 and i can say the difference is quite obvious....just the stance and the handling of the car feels totally different....we were both on 17's but man his car sways alot more it feels a bit higher and the front slides out more in tight corners......i've posted pics i,ll work on posting them again.
this is super old news more like in 03........
Its really only a cosmetic change, IMO if the motor would have been more powerful than the TL-s that would have been worthy of an ASPEC
the only difference to me it just looks like a custom modded TL with alittle ASPEC badge, nothin more

color matched grill, aspec wing (notice the mount in the middle and the 2 lights on each side that lights up red at night), peforated blue leather (2 toned), aspec badge, aspec rims, shift knob, full oem lip kit, color matched headlight housing (either blue or black), side markers, and different wood trims inside the car.
as for suspension.. it should be the same considering it's already a type s. and type s' come with a sportier suspension than a tl-p.

lol how many aspec's have you driven........none....i've driven 4 different acura tl's all between 2002 and 2003. Its like the nsx-r it was released at 290hp but many dyno's have found numbers more along the lines of 310.......i'm not sayin its got F1 aerodynamics and it rides on freakin rails....all i said was i felt a big difference in the feeling of the car when you drive it like a maniac....My friends shifter is almost 1.5 inches higher then mine....his seats dont come close to being as sporty as mine either.....its just a different feeling.Even he admits it. And we both have 17's but his car has a bigger finger gap then mine but we both have the same tires seeing as how i sold them to him.....but hey what do i know right....i'm just some dumb canadian driving an actual Aspec.....
ya man sorry bout that for some reason cause i say it feels like it handles better im full of shit.......i mean you know i've only put 40 000km on my tl in the first year i had it but what do i know about the way it feels right
show me two diff part numbers for the suspension then talk.....
and ive been in two actual aspecs, from AZ and a friends dad who is a dealer and sold me this car...its all cosmetic...the only diff suspension is the HFP ones, and those arent even equiped stock on usdm cars. its all in your head

When looking for my TL-S I drove the A-Specs, plus my boy has the Aspec. The ONLY difference is cosmetic, end of discussion.
nope neither of us are modded we are both compleyely stock and at the time he only had about 15 000km more then me......he's my best friend and my gf and he and his gf and his dad all agree the feeling is different.....he has a tl-s....i know its doesn't have racing springs and formula one tires or anything but we've all been able to tell a difference.....look back at my posts and tell where i said my suspension set up is so much better then his and that his rides like a swift and mine rides like th viper ACR.....all i said was we both have the same car but mine's Aspec. everyone that has driven both cars mine and his agree with that...but i'm not saying i've got a freakin mugen suspension setup.....it could be cause of lots of things maybe the previous owner of his car drove like a redneck nd his springs are gettin due....afterall the previous owner of my car was 73 years old. So i'm gonna say it again yes it does exist I have one and you can see pics of it in my profile. I know the mods are only cosmetic and such but everyone feels the difference between my car and his car....thats 2 out of how many thousands of tl's....maybe another type-s would feel just like mine. i've driven one tl-s one Aspec and 2 tl-p's and felt a difference in all of them....now for those of you who seem to think i've confirmed with a blood drop that my car rides like need for speed underground 2 read again very carefully.
lol and for the icing dude my wheels are still stock lol but dont give up you almost hurt my feelings lol FAIL
never said it was faster either just said it felt better but thats ok you hurt my feelings also lol FAIL

Guy you need serious help, A-spec is completely a cosmetic thing. Engine, trans, suspension are all the same as a Type S. I went from a 00 TL-P to my A-spec and I could barely feel a difference, how you feel a difference between two cars that are the same is beyond me.
