so for the people with the apexi ws-2. what made the biggest difference in sound and/or sounded better. putting on a high flow cat? or putting on headers. the exhaust is just too quiet for my taste now.

 

have you removed your mid muffler yet? if not then youll get a pretty noticeable difference in sound afterwards

Headers and high flow cat will probably make it sound a little louder since you're freeing up the exhaust flow.

 

He's right. Plus headers will yield almost 30hp. Do you gave an intake? More air coming in would mean more air/sound going out. but i need to digress. Why would you want a lout exhaust on a pre-luxury car. Try those things. It still wont be LOUD but def more sound with a mellow tone.

You have a quiet exhaust in a car with a lot of sound deadening. Of course it sounds almost stock in the car. I'd want it to be that way. have you had some one drive your car for you and do a drive-by or ride next to it on the road?

 

30hp?! Are you serious? I knew it was a lot, but not that much. I might have to buy some ebay generics until I can get my hands on a CT.

 

dont buy ebay headers.... and peak is about 30 whp..

 

CT are so hi. Just get generics which will yield 20hp or the DC Headers for the same 30hp for half the cost. I didn't even know you still had a TL. You should list in you sig bro. Give acura some love still. No wonder you stay on here a lot still...

 

i sold my TL. i still come on azine cuz of car talk/ramblings/regionals... venture over to the off topics.. you'll see that lot of the usual posters will be past acura owners and or just car enthusiasts....

Thought about getting a new exhaust set up? Sell the WS and get the ATLP, big difference in sound.

ATLP > Tanabe > Magnaflow > Apexi

 

yeah atlp's can get pretty loud... like when you're in second gear trying to get up a hill in a residential area

I loved my WS2 when I installed it last summer. 9 months latter, I hear a annoying drone inside the car when I'm cruising. The noise inside the car is more loud now. I had my CAI and headers installed at the same time.

 

I'm beginning this is why CT-E and Tanabe didn't do anything to the piping due to the droan. How bad is it? You said when cruising. What speed 35, 45, 55, 65, or 75mph? What RPM does it happen and end?

 

Its around 50 mph +/- 5mph at 2k to 2300 rpm. When I push the gas pedal, it diminishes a little but when I let off gas, it drones. Sometimes I feel when I zigzag just a little when cruising, the drone becomes prominent but that could be just me.

 

Anyone know if ATLP drones or has rasp?
