1. Headers. Cheapest = XS headers from ssautochrome on ebay. dyno'd a couple times, seem to be about the same as comptech (they copied the design after all) and should result in decent gains in the TL-P.

2. TL-S incoporates VTEC. Look up "VTEC" on www.howstuffworks.com they do a good description

Trade your TL and get the TL-S! Then do all the mods you can afford on your new TL-S.

yea pimp the tlp does have vtec.. tl-s differences are:the heads/valves are bigger, compression ratio is higher, its all forged internals. bigger injectors, different fuel maps, theres more.
you could do a frankenstein but its prolly easier/cheaper to do a total engine swap.

The entire intake and exhaust tract are different.
The intake manifold is dual stage, not the throttle body

the main part of the power came from different internals to allow higher compression, larger and different intake manifold different ecu tuning, different cams and larger throttle body.

The throttle body isnt dual stage. What you came across was a TB with the VSA throttle body attached.

if you wnat to save money....find ppl that bought generic parts off ebay.. i have a generic cold air intake that i bought for 60 and it fits perfect and no problems...and i recently found somebody that bought generic headers from ebay and he said they fit and are good so imma buy the exact same ones for around 120 i think.

To beat a type S from a highway roll, it took me: Injen Intake / OBX Headers / Custom Magnaflow Catback / MDX Intake Manifold / Type S Thottle body / Apexi VAFCII. That let me pull on the top end, down low was different, because unless you strap a blower on the P or the Type S driver cant launch and spins too much, then the TYpe S will edge you out until about 60.

WOW. cool. i never knew the TL.s came with a 2.5 V6?? .. the above is true not all honda's came with VTEC. actually all the teg from the 1st to 3rd gen did not come in vtec besides the GSR (93 was first with Vtec in teg series). the RS/LS was non-Vtec. civics and Crx's did not come out vtec unless it was JDM with the B16 and or B18c. but yeah even accords too. so it came in certain models only for US.

As for the power difference. the mods everyone above states is the great place to start with. or you could just pick up a Type S from the black market or your neighborhood. they are pretty easy to find here and there. just have to look. good luck on your power searching endevor!!! its like drugs. never enough and always expensive!!!

Custom magnaflow set up, Apex'i WS II, Comtech cat-back, Tanabe SMH cat-back.
You will feel a little more throttle response with Intake, or that's what it felt like to me. Yes you can tell a slight difference.
