Welcome Jbru95 !!!
For all kinds of pics of 2nd Gen TL's, check out the "Photo Gallery" sub-forum.

The common customizing mods are rims, lowering suspension, lip kits, tint, and exhaust.
It's all in there in full color. If ya have a particular interest, just type the subject in the "SEARCH" button and ya may get lucky.

Enjoy the site and show us a pic of your TL.....along with a wish list.

The "Black Market" has great deals on used parts to customize your ride.

I want to do a turbo build on my 03 type-a but I guess I can't do that because they don't make them for that car. I want to get some hp out of that engine

Better do a 6speed swap first. The auto won't handle it. Some people have modified the xs power kit for the accord but it is a cheap kit.

^if I had an auto CL or TL, that would be the first thing i would do.
swap to a 6 Manual Transmission.

there are soo many benefits of doing this.
-better gearing
- bullet proof and not fragile like the auto's
- lighter (100lbs lighter - and will make you quicker)

a simple swap will make you leaps and bounds faster

Wish it was that easy for the 99 TL-P's
I've read that some bolts wouldn't line up right.

it is easy. all you gotta do is cut into your firewall for a clutch pedal and hand brake cables and rewire the whole thing lol.

The supercharger is great on low boost and also pretty bullet proof. It's a sealed unit and belt driven, not much to go wrong. Just tune it properly and add some cooling. Plus it'll cost you half as much as a custom turbo. It's undersized for the motor but again if you want low boost anyways...

No I never got a dyno, Milwaukeedace has about the same mods as me and his dyno was around 240. Based of that I would estimate 240-250. It keeps up with my 04 tl 6 speed with a jpipe, third cat delete and atlp base catback. Only difference is my 04 tl has more power down low but my 00tl has more power up top.

Another case of you heard wrong. The SC doesnt have any problems. The only issue is that the SC that is available is really undersized for the motor and the capability of making a lot of power isnt there.

that the problem with these cars the don't seem to make many aftermarket parts for this car and i don't really understand why. is it because these cars are front wheel drive?

Dont mean to thread jack..

I have no idea where you read that but that isnt true one bit.
Maybe i was thinking about the AV6 accord transmission

*If you use the J32A2 from the Auto you will need these parts (all from the CLs-6)

Front cam pulley 14260-PGE-A11
Front plate assembly (behind cam pulley) 11860-PGE-A10
Timing belt pulley(lower) 13621-PGE-A11
Crank shaft sensor 37500-PGE-A11 (this little shit costs $500.00)
Subharness for CKP 37501-PGE-A10
TDC Sensors (Qty 2) 37840-PGE-A11
TDC SUB HARNESS 37841-PGE-A10

If you dont already have the Type-s you will want the IMRC 37850-PGE-A01

Brake/Gas pedal assembly from either the accord or CLs-6. (i modified mine)
If you decide to buy it new BRAKE PEDAL ASSY 46600-S3M-A51

Clutch pedal. (this can be from a few cars, i took mine from a 90s civic. it was almost a direct bolt in.
It uses 3 points to bolt in only 2 lined up. I modified a bolt and shim to make it bolt up in the 3rd spot)

If you decide to buy it new you will need the pedal and mount CLUTCH PEDAL 46910-S3M-A01 & CLUTCH PEDAL BRACKET 46990-S84-A01
MASTER CYLINDER ASSY 46922-S3M-A01 & Clutch Fluid Tank 46965-S5A-013, & Clutch Hose 46961-S3M-A02
(i used the one from the civic i pulled the clutch pedal out of)

Things im not sure if you will need but i bought.

Relay box assembly (under hood) 38250-S3M-A21
Shift Boot 83414-S3M-A01ZA
Shift Knob 54102-SL0-023ZB

If you have a header you will either have to have the XS header or COmptech header for the manual. Other wise it wont fit
You will be able to reuse the stock manifolds

If you already ahve a Type-s you MAY Not need these????
Right side cabin to engine comp harness 32100-S3M-A12
Left side cabin to engine comp harness 32120-S3M-A20

I Would attempt with out (that i bought and used with out trying without first) It will make not having to do all the rewiring of
that i did.
Upper instrument harness 32117-S3M-A31
Lower dash harness 32150-S3M-A32
If i acquire all these parts, plus the cl-s transmission. I would be set for a complete manual transmission swap for my 99 TL-P?

there are tons of aftermarket stuff for the car.
it's just that you're looking for superficial stuff.
you're looking for the things that dont matter.

Accord trans is a direct swap as well with no issues with bolts lining up

Yep, 99-03 doesnt matter. Its the same car. Especially when you swap out the motor and all wiring that is necessary.

Buy the J37 crank and put it in that block and you have a 3.6, bore that block to 90mm and you now have a 3.7

Hey Jbru95, Take your choice....pick and choose or mix and match, as you please.

Alot depends on what ya personally really want the end result to be. Do ya wanna go and stop faster, have a louder exhaust, handle better, look sportier, etc. To save expenses, check out the site's "Black Market" for used bargains. For ideas on custom mods, try the "Photo Gallery" sub-forum.

It's all here and well documented, if ya take the time to research your modding interests. Have fun !!!

Start with headers. Big intake, bigger throttle body, underdrive crank pulley. Port the runners and up if you can.

Yes. Big bump in torque. Big again you have an auto tranny. You could do the accord auto tranny and a simple 3.5. Mdx engine with TL-s cams. Port the runners, manifold, headers, big intake and throttle body. That would be a fun ride.
