Not to sound rude, but perhaps searching would be a great idea. There is a guy in the 3rd gen who stripped down his TL, but I mean unless you're willing to make your car completely un-luxury there isn't much you can do. I can honestly say you got the wrong car if you're trying to strip down the weight a whole ton.

common suggestions are remove the owner manual and go on a diet~

Some years can get CF hood
Check the gen3 thread on putting the TL on a diet
There are several dead weight items you can remove

Honestly, this isnt a race car. Its a sedan. In order to do things that would honestly make a difference your going to run into sound/noise issues and normal day to day drive ability issues

remove the lower intake resonator box, thats a big waste of space and weight and you will get improved performace and that nice tone in Vtec
Then focus on brakes and suspension to make it a fast fun street car.

If you're going to do racing seats, get leather-like ones at least, not shit red and black cloth ones. While I think they would look out of place in a TL, they may be pretty cool looking.

Any weight reduction you are able to do with a TL isn't enough to make any difference. As previously stated, the TL isnt a race car. Focus on performance mods for performance. The rear seats for example, they dont weigh hardly anything! MAYBE 10 pounds. And as for removing the spare tire and jack...that is very stupid. You wont lose enough weight to make any kind of difference at all. The only difference will be, is that if you have a flat, you're fucked. The only weight reduction that really provides, is whatever you weigh. It will be that much less when you have to walk home b/c of a flat tire.

The upper section of the backseat is easy 20lbs, the bottom is between 5-10lbs. Not to say that'll change the characteristics much, but if you really wanted a TL to handle better (which would be the point in reducing the weight), you better make sure you have a RSB and all other suspension upgrades to make it worthwhile.

Not to mention the fact that you want the closest to 50/50 weight distibution as possible for handling. The front end on a TL weighs enough, so taking weight from the rear theoretically would make handling worse. Its just the wrong car for that kind of stuff.

The only reasonable option for weight reduction that I see is getting the lightest 16' wheels you can find.
The effective weight reduction for unsprung weight is 3 times the actual weight, i.e., 30 lbs saved on wheel+tire will roughly equal to 90 lbs of dead weight (car seat, your body weight, etc).
After that maybe you should get 2 piece brake rotors that are lighter than the regular rotors.
Other than that, gutting the car to reduce dead weight isn't going anywhere.

you wanna light weight car get a little civic hatch that you can strip and throw in a racing seat good lil project car too as everyone states the the tl is made to be luxury with balls so if you wana more speed look into performacne theres little things to do that can give you more power headers exhaust cai and spacers are all good investments and if you wanna get more look into chip and a s/c or spray but do you homework before you rush into things

Just chillen..
Yes, just like how it was stated before TL isn't a race car but more of a luxury car. It's also a old car, compared to these new cars that are running mid 14's to high 13's but they have enough performance to back it up.
Now back to the TL: I don't know if you have a Type-S or Tl-P. If you have a Type-S Get the 6speed from the CL-S. If you have a Tl-P, Do the swap ( TypeS/6Speed ). Now if you can't afford that, do Intake/Pulley/Spacers/Exhaust/AFC Neo/Headers/Nitrous (If).
Some parts are workable with the TypeS/TL-P. But Do A Search.
Results: You keep all the luxury, don't remove nothing, and with those mods (expect for supercharger/nitrous ), you'll be in the high 13's.

ITs not needed. Been daily driving this car for over 5 years never needed to use a spare jack or tire. Most of the time the spare tire is flat anyhow. I just took my rear seats out tonight They probably weigh around 30 to 40 lbs total. I took them out because I'm going to be doing my rear struts in the future
