VSA Button???

Ok, i give up...i tried looking for what it does and what it means but I have no idea. I know when I push it the caution light comes on. Does this help me drive in bad weather? race? like..whats the purpose?? Any help would be great, thanks!

it's better for racing when it's on meaning the caution light is on

dude, honestly. traction control is USELESS. !! i don't know who HONDA is tryin to trick but they ain't tricking me... all it does it vibrate ur car when the stupid ABS kicks in and prevents u from accelerating (drivetrain is disabled temporarly...) and when the wheels stop spinning.. it suddenly accelerates....

NOW WAT IS THE POINT OF THAT? ... i have much better acceleration in the snow/winter roads with the traction control off... with it ON.. i look like a moron who is stallin in the middle of the intersection when i try to accelerate... GOD i hate this peice of crap tech.. i dunno who they are tryin to trick...

if anything, it slows u down big time.. and so wat. the wheels spin a bit , ur still accelerating faster with the TCS and not to mention, it doesn't help SAfety wise in anyway.. in fact, with it on... u never know when it will allow the wheels to accelerate so ur constantly pressing the gas in and out until the car gets traction... SO retarded..

it helps to ground teh car when itis slipping...i admit the TCS on the TLPs suck but the VCS on the TLS helps when the car slips through turns...when the caution light is on the VCS or TCS is off by the way & it does help u to race better...wont stop the car when peeling wheels

While i agree the TCS on the TL is a joke, not all are. GMs TCS is far superior to our 2nd gens.

Also it doesnt disconnect the drive train. Its using the ABS system to help curb wheel spin. Its not intended to make you take off faster. Its designed to keep the wheels from spinning. Wheels spinning = not in control.

The TL-P TCS is the largest waste ive ever seen. It stops working at 20 mph. It should be all speed. Id find more use for it activating at HWY speeds than at a stop light.

Thats the key, Dont push the gas pedal so hard. Push it lightly. and you will accelerate much more smoothly. and when it activates dont lift off the gas abruptly just keep it there. Flooring it will get you no where.

ya eh.. i knew the TCS is a joke on the Tl's... im' sure its teh same for all the hondas.. hahaha what were they thinking.. and u know wat Kris.. uir right. i think this bloody thing turns off after 20mph cuz... in my old camry.. i was on the highway once.. lots of snow.. and my wheels slipped at like 80km/h .. and the TRAC came out.. but on this car.. recently. i tried to spin the wheels on the highway loaded with snow and NOTHING came up.. so i wondered why.. now it makes sense...

and its annoying to keep it on.. seriously... useless..... i thought the Tl's TCS was superior to my old camrys.. sigh. .wat a disappointment... even though that trac was the exact same(ABS and DRIVETRAIN) ...it alteast was on all the time.. instead of just 20MPH or less.

Wow yea, i didnt really ever realize that buy having the caution light on would help race better. I raced some hatch the past weekend and the car just took off, it's alot better thanks! I guess in the snow i'd want the caution light off so i can get traction and stuff like that around corners right?

I don't know I think it has helped me out a bit in the rain. It usually just makes me adjust how I am accelerating. But I have started to not use alot and yeah it totally cuts the balls off the car.

The TCS applies brake to the spinning wheel at under 18 mph
Its to help you start off on wet or slippery conditions.
Works best after going thru car wash!

You turn it OFF for drag racing because you dont want any restriction to forward movement

Maybe I was just taught to drive in the old school way of the driver being responsible for safe operation of the vehicle AS WELL AS knowing how it all works by reading the owner manual!!!!!

TCS helps sells cars to gullible people who like to read the safety list on the window sticker... isn't that why Acura put it in?

Cruised around today without it on and man it is so much better with the darned thing off. Since there is a lot of rocks on the road around here it seemed to kick in at like every stop light. I think I am only going to leave it on if its raining. In the rain it just seems to be a friendly reminder to let off the gas.

When I swerved at 75 mph to avoid a generator that fell off a flatbed pickup, I am GLAD I had VSA. I think I broke traction and I could of sworn I felt the cars systems kick in to keep me straight. The sensors and what not where buzzin like crazy!! So, I believe in it!!!! I think I would of went into a spin if I didn't have it...big brother at its finest

Agh I hate it when my car does that. Its when you have to hit the brakes hard it feel likes something is going to give out or something I dont like it all but glad to know im not the only one.

Question please: When is a good time to turn the button off (light on), like when in neutral or when the parking brake is up?? because i turned it off while driving, but the traction control was still kicking in when i was reversing and turning the wheel at the same time.

THanks.

I'd put more blame on the OEM tires (with non-existent traction) than VSA/TCS. Once you switch to a better gripping tire, you'll almost never see that \!/ light up again.

^^^ i agree.

also... when u turn off the TCS, u have to wait a bit.. perhaps til the next time u accelerate and stop.. Or i think a few seconds.. because i know my TCS was kicking in as i was just about to start a race... we came to a red.. and this guy was ready to race.. but i had my TCS on.. and i clicked teh button to turn it off (the light came on) ... when the traffic light hit green, i slammed it.. and what happened? well.. my car was vibrating like no tomorrow and the retarded TCS was still active! ... ya he had the lead on me.. but once i had traction (or basically whne the retarded system gave in..) i caught up in no time and passed him... it was a VW JETTA 1.8T .....slammed, bodykit... decals everywhere.. i was expecting some seriopus things under his hood but i guess its still a 1.8 .. haha.. turbo or not.
