Angry UR Pulley

As depressing as it is I caved in to letting a shop put this in. I started work on it with my friends father, and things were going great. Then I had to actually remove the pulley bolt.

Needles to say without the pulley tool we were not able to get that bolt off. Without that darn tool the pulley would continue to turn and not let the bolt come loose. So today around four I'll get my car back and hopefully I'll get a feel for the difference within the week.

That is my next mod on the engine, let me know if you feel more power in the lower rpm range...

Got my car back, and I can kind of tell a difference already. I know that it will take a week though to show its full potential. I'm just pissed I couldn't do it myself.

I mean, you wont see much. You'll see a shiny pulley. Look for Pizaul's thread on this topic. He took great pics during the install.

i'm about to get my timing belt changed. Hopefully the dealership will swap pulleys for me while they already have it off. If not, ill just leave a $20 with it and hope the mechanic notices while he drives my car in

Someone didnt do their homework before trying to take this off. You could have used the socket wrench placed it on the frame and tapped the ignition a few times and the starter would have loosened the (as others have found works)

Do you know how the shop torqued down the UR Crank Pulley? I know its pretty much impossible to have it torqued to spec (187 or something according to the directions).

No I do not. I really didn't want to mess with the ignition trick as I really did not know what I was doing...

Not to mention this is my first car, and I've never worked on a car in my life. Thank you very much.

Actually you can get access to the service port and stick a crow bar on the teeth of the torque converter assembly to prevent it from moving and then torque the pulley to 180 ft lbs of tq.
