Type S Upper/Lower IM & TB installed...

First and foremost, a huge thanks goes out to neil, aka nsxnext. he helped me so much, probably replied to about 100 pms and 10 phone calls.....

As for gains, the car definately feels more responsive down low, but once you get to 4K rpms, the car has definately lost power. This will be fixed once I am able to rig up the bypass valve and its actuator.

As many of you may have seen, I was having a vacuum leak the first time I installed this stuff, and couldnt figure it out. It was either one of the dowel pins wasnt pushed all the way in, the fact that I forgot to put the washers in where the fuel injectors seat, or, the most probable reason, I didnt change the breather tube elbows to the larger ones once I swapped the lowers. Either way, I will have quite a bunch of stuff for sale, including another set of Type S lowers, a IAC valve, TLP upper & lower IM, as well as a TLP TB for pretty cheap, keep an eye out in the BM or PM me if you want anything.

As far as difficulty of installation, you just need patience. It is very straght forward and not that hard to do, as long as you take it slow. If you want to do it and are local I would be willing to give you a hand. Any questions feel free to post or PM me.....

PS no pics, just look at a type s engine haha

Take the bypass cam and rig it wide open to see if you feel any upper rpm gains. If not im suspecting its set up with the type0s cam profile

J32A2 and J32A1 cams have the same intake profile.

I've already tried that and it made no difference.

Glad you got everything working Chirag. It was tough trying to remember everything I had to do to get it installed. Hopefully I'll have some free time soon to get the bypass valve installed.

You probably also need the type-S PCM to fully unleash the type-S add-ons.

upon further investigation it seems like the PCM is what controls the butterfly valve to open the bypass valve. I also read that when a SC is added, the benefits of that are very little if at all, therefore making it almost pointless to do so. I will probably install the blower before I install the bypass valve and switch. Its a catch 22 here, I hope I dont need it becuase it wlil be a PITA to install, but I dont want to have wasted all the money (approx $200) on it. I know a part like that might be somewhat difficult to get rid of. The loss of power in the higher RPMs is very noticeable though..........

It is the engine control computer box located close to the floor behind the center dash console which houses the radio/CD player. The type-S PCM will also have your needed output wire for the dual-intake runner actuator. The engine control timing is tuned by the factory to take advantage of the increase air flow on the type-S engine.

When you put in the SC, do you keep the short (and fat) intake runner on at the times ? You'll need a lot of air flow for the SC to work effectively.

Hmm, so in other words, its the ECU? If so, I dont think that would work with the TLP motor............Im sure there are many other differences in the motor beside the IM/TB.........or is it not the ECU? Im getting kinda confused lol, this isnt my area of expertise...............................

Yes, PCM is the Honda terminology of saying ECU. The Honda/Acura PCM controls both the engine and the transmission - hence the name Powertrain Control Module. Some other manufacturers have separate control modules for engine and transmission.

The Accord guys have just run an RPM switch to activate the bypass valve actuator. That's what I plan to do. Just need some time to hook everything up.

Sorta. There is a completly seperate control device for teh 2nd stage actuator (IMRC) which isnt controled by a wire from the ecu. You would need to replace teh engine harness along with the drivers side engine compartment to cabin harness also
