Changing Stock Speakers

I have a 03 TL types S I have a JL audio 2 12" speakers box and a JL audio amp 300watts. I do not want to replace the factory unit. Would I be able to replace the stock speakers to give a better sound? If so what is recommended?

Any thing other than stock. replacing the BLOZ headunit is the best place to start. seeing you dont want to do that. Id look into a good set of component speakers to replace the door speakers. (polk,mb quart) are good

I have searched and most posts I read are about people adding a system, amp, or changing speakers in the newer models. I have a 03 Type-S I installed tweeters in the window columns so I have 4 tweeters. I do not want to change the head unit. I read that using MB Quart I would need to add another amp which I am not looking to do. I just want to simply replace the existing door speakers for something better. Thanks

well with any aftermarket speakers put in to improve sound you should get a better higher power amp. But its not necessary. Why do you have 4 tweeters? I guess the best we can tell you is Buy speakers and try them out. we dont know what sounds good to you.

How hard is it to remove the door panels?
Got a Chilton's manual but it doesn't really delve into that subject.
