Question Type S manifold

I was thinking about buying the 2002 TL Type-S upper intake manifold for my non s tl. would it fit? and if it does, would the car even run? would there be any performance difference?

Yes, it will fit and yes it will run...However, before you spend the money on that, you might as well get the 09 manifold, which is a little bit larger...The torque gains are apparently quite noticeable...
A few guys on here have done it already...

You will need to get a throttle body adapter from p2r for it to work, I believe.

from what i understand the 09IM is smaller and lighter, but yields higher gains.

Id use the 09 IM and id suggest getting used to the search button. Most things can be answered quickly with it.

I don't see it suggested above, but you should also get a type-S throttle body as well. It would be a shame to get a better IM and still use a TL-P TB.
