Type-S CAI on a TLP?

I did a serach on this and could only find that the piping was a different size (3" vs 2.75"). I'm looking at getting one of the cheap CAI off of eBay and using a K&N filter, but I really like how the Type-S ebay intakes put the filter down by the fog light area. On a past project I had cut the fake vent to make it a real vent. I figured that if I could get the Type-S intake to work, fresh air would be hitting it in the face. It seems that the non-Type-S intakes just go straight down and don't curve at the end. Would there be any other fitment issues besides the OD difference?

I know that it is an ebay CAI because he states it in the thread. Do you know if that is a Type-S or Non-Type-S intake?

Here is the Type-S version which you can see the curve where the filter is attached.

On the non-type-s intake the lower tube (the one with out the hose connections) just has a slight bend in it

I like the Type-s because of the curve at the end/filter placement, has anyone tried to fit one of these on a TLp?

You can't use TL-S intakes because of the diameter diff. So yea answer to your question is diameter is pretty much the only fitment issue.

I haven't done any searches, but if you can't find an intake with the curve you want, I guess you're stuck.

handy, you are talking about the fitment at the throttle body, right? In order to fix that problem would I just need a coupler that was 3" to 2.75"?

Yea, the TB diameter. I guess you could, but you have to ensure a tight seal.

To be honest, if it were me, I wouldn't even bother. Just get the regular CAI for the TL-P

The issue of airflow you're talking about isn't even an issue. The filter will get the same amount of air regardless of how it sits behind the bumper.

^ pipe length is different too..

type-s has a VSA body so the intake pipe is shortened

As jjashaa said, it's gonna be several inches too short. You'd have to get an additional piece of 3" aluminum and another rubber coupler to make up the difference.
