Tinting Headlights?

My CL has the notorious headlight leak on the passanger side. I really do not want to pull the housing out and pull it apart and reseal. I understand that it can leak again in no time.

Has anyone just tinted the outside of the headlight with a smoke or charcoal colored tint? My thinking is it would hide the unsightly water drops and fogging on the interior of the headlights.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated

Are you serious?? Fix it properly. If you do it right it WONT leak any more. Not fixing it will get costly in bulb replacement and ballast replacement.

Wrong buddy , if you reseal the light properly then why would you have anymore leaks? You wouldnt. Plus its worth the work, your saving money unless you would like to purchase brand new lights. That would be a charm

I let a leak go on my 03 Type S and it cost me about $1200 to replace the whole headlight assembly when it fried. The moisture caused a short and wouldn't allow EITHER headlight to work and there was a disturbing clicking that I could hear from inside the car (interesting drive home from work ;o) ). The HIDs carry a high voltage and the moisture will cause problems for your electrical system. As I recall, the itemized bill included the lens, HID bulb, bright bulb, an inverter, and some other stuff I don't recall. When they gave me the estimate, my jaw dropped, but it was all legit. If I had taken care of bidness right away, I would have only paid for a lens. I'd get it fixed ASAP, whether you do it yourself or have a dealer do it.
