03 Front Emblem!
03 Front Emblem!
Hi! I did my searches before decided to post this. Anyway I'm looking for an OEM Front emblem for my 03 TL or aftermarket that actually look really close to the original. Anyone know a trustable site I can order it from? I don't want the H emblem or the other emblem. I want that A emblem. If anyone does please let me know. Or if anyone got spare since you replaced your with the H emblem or some other stuff please let me have it or sell to me at reasonable price.
thanks a tons man. I'm also looking for budget front bumper and rear bumper. I see that oemacuraparts.com has some but kinda expensive. I bought my TL with some scrapes on front and rear bumper for really cheap. 36k miles for only 11k. Everything in perfect condition except for the front and rear bumper where the old owner scrapes them while backing out of garage. Anyone know how much it would cost for me to bring it to dealer to have them fix it? Or should i just buy new bumpers and replace them myself?

DO not let them sand that urethane bumper. Any good body shop will refuse to sand and repaint urethane. If the acratches are just in the clearcoat then find you a good detailer. Remember a good one will NOT be cheap. You want someone that knows hot to use a orbitla or rotary polisher. If the scratches are just in the clearcoat a good detailer man can get them out. and it is alot easier than having them repainted and will look amazing. They can make your ride look brand new

The problem isnt the scratches here man. The problem is you are going to let someone screw you over because you are not listening to me. Urethane is not like metal. Metal you can just sand a little bit and throw more pain on it. Urethane you CANNOT DO THAT. For paint to stick to urethans because of the flexibilty of it you must first use some kind of adhesion promoter on it then prim it and then paint it. you only sand it enough to get the pint smooth because if.
Well I could explain this to you all night but you will more than likely go let someone charge you to repaint them without replacing them anyways. Good luckand a month after you let them paint your bumpers and it starts flaking off you wont have to waste space asking us why in another post because i just told you what will happen. IT WILL FLAKE OFF.

i see what you're trying to say here. So if i can't let them sand off the adhesive then should i give it a try myself? just lightly sand the scratches so it's smooth enough and just use spray paint cans? I'll post some picture tomorrow and let you see what can really be done to fix this. I was thinking of just sand it off a bit and paint over the scratches first.
here are the pictures of my scratches. Let me know what I should do please.

TIME FOR A NEW BUMPER. trust me you will kick yourself in the F'in balls a month after you just "cover" those scratches up. just buy a new one and have it painted.
I even found you one on ebay:::: Item number-230267731223. Just type that in the search field on the homepage and there you go. 140 bux and then just have it painted and switch the fogs and bolt it up.

no it is just the original urethane finish. it would need to be prepped and painted.as long as you dont have a WDP like me it shouldnt be too exspensive. I took mine to the ACURA dealership and for the front bumper prepped primed wet sanded and painted and installed was 1936 dollars. lol yours will not anywhere near that with the SSM. It will be woth it either way you go because then the paint will be warrantied and so if it messes up then they have to replace it and repaint for free. It is general practice for any good body shop to not repaint a urethane bumper. I went to at least 6 different shops all with the same answer. Replace and paint.
cool thanks. I went to like a "well known* body shop in my city and they didn't say crap about not repaint urethane bumper and they wanted about $950 to repaint all my scratches(front bumpers, 2 fenders(rebuff), rear bumper(rebuff)). I guess I'll just have to order one and have it paint.
thats not to bad for the bumper and fenders but i would still replace it. I dont know how your cashflow is so it might not really be an option. The only advice i can give is to 1. make sure that if they sand into the urethane bad that they get it nice and smooth again and 2. Make sure they use really good adhesion promoter and that they add the flex additive to the paint. That is what makes it to where if you kind of bump into something with a urethane bumper it wont just come off in huge chunks. I can send you pictures of what it looked like on my bumper when a guy hit mine in the parking lot at work. whoever had the car before me had the bumper repainted but not replaced and a 4 MPH hit cost almost 2 grand.LOL. Good Luck and post pics when fixed man
alright thanks for the tips. I'll definitely tell the guy fixing this for me this. cuz I found a guy said that he know about this urethane stuff and he know how to get it in like new condition he said it will be factory paint and adhesive that he's going to use to repaint it for me. He's charging me whatever the paint and stuff cost and + 200$ in labor cuz he's a friend with my family. will definitely post some pic when it's finish.
Looks good man. Let that paint cure real good before you go scrubbing it to get bugs off or what not. Glad you got a buddy to do it that way if for some reason it does mess up he can fix it. Good Job brotha
how long is real good? He let the paint dry before i could pick it up. So nothing would stick on it while I drive. But he only let it sit for a day so I don't know if it's good enough. And I did a car wash yesterday nothing seen to come off yet lol.
