switch for neon lights.

I'm thinking of putting neon strips under my dash
and was wondering if there's a switch i can install
that will allow me to turn off the neons, have the neons turn on when doors are open, or on always
i pretty much would like the same option as any dome light of any car,
but separate from the dome light itself
since i want to be able to turn on the neons
without the dome being on.

u could wire it to the dome light fuse and then with a set of another wires hook it up to a switch. so it works when dome light are on, or if u hit the fuse. look for a thread about "puddle light" the person wired it to their dome lights.

does the lights go on when you open your doors tho?
i want the neons to act like the dome lights, how it turns on when i open a door
but also be able to turned and kept on, while the dome lights are off

Out of curiousity does everyone agree that neon lights give the best effect for footwell lights? By best I mean giving a smooth, pleasing illumination without any large hot spots and providing the best longevity.

Thanks.
